Melissa woke up to the smell of fresh coffee climbing up the stair case through the cracks of her bedroom door. She felt weight on her side and found Michael's arm draped around her. His head was close up against her neck, she felt his warm breath as he breathed peacefully in his sleep. She smiled with delight and carefully sat up in bed giving Michael a kiss before getting up. As she was stretching, his phone rang. Curiosity, as always, got the better of her. She walked around to the dresser and read the caller ID "Mom" she read aloud. She glanced back at Michael "well she must be worried..." She said before answering the phone "hello?"

There was a pause "h-hello, who is this?" A women's voice asked with a confused tone.

"This is Melissa" she spoke.

"Who?" The lady asked again still puzzled why a girl answered her sons phone.

"Mikey-- Michael's girlfriend" she corrected herself to sound more mature.

"Oh is that what he's been doing all this time?" She asked not wanting an answer "hello Melissa, I'm Mrs. Clifford....where is Michael?"

"Asleep" she replied looking back at his cuddly body laying wrapped in blankets in bed. She smiled again.

"No dear, where is he" Mrs. Clifford said through the phone clearly annoyed.

"Oh! Two hundred twenty five Brimwood Court" she said.

"So you're his girlfriend, he's at your house, asleep, in bed...great"

"No! No it's not like that Mrs. Clifford, he's been into some trouble and my dad's the chief policeman" she walked around her room "some people are out to get him...to be quite honest with you Michael told us you didn't want him anymore...or else we would've called-"

"He what? That's insane! Tell him to come straight home as soon as he wakes up, and to call me! That boys never been any good" she said before hanging up the phone.

Melissa ended her awkward call and locked his phone. She looked down at the black screen and hit the home button. A picture of them popped up as the lock screen. She smiled.

"You find anything good in there?" Michael asked.

Melissa jumped "no I wasn't-"

"I know..I heard" he sat up "come here" he patted the sheets.

Melissa walked over and fell into his lap "then you know you should call" she turned around.

Michael shrugged "hey it's been what? Three days? She can wait three more minuets" he kissed her "can we eat now?"

"Yes" she laughed.

They stood up and he stretched. Melissa fiddled with her hair. Michael stopped stretching when he realized her shirt "uh, hey" he said looking at her top.

"Oh, Sorry! It was comfy and I liked it and yeah..sorry" she said unbuttoning the forest green flannel.

"No keep it" Michael said walking over to her "it looks better on you" he smiled grabbing her arms "although you could unbutton it" he smirked.

"Michael!" She laughed hitting him playfully.

He kissed her again this time pulling her waist against his body. Melissa's arms stretched around his neck as one hand moved through his hair "why are you different when you're around me?" She asked letting go of his lips.

"What do you mean babe?" He smiled in a day dreamy haze.

"Like...affectionate and sympathetic" she looked up at him.
