"If Wanda isn't who she is," Tong wailed, dropping his head on the Formica-topped table at the Great Mall's MacDonald outlet. "I would have told her to go fuck herself for making us work on Sunday."

"Come on, man

"Come on, man." Apo squeezed the disgruntled man's forearm in sympathy. "She's the marketing head of THE Cartier." He widened his eyes for the effect. "Think about the prospects if she actually hired us?"

"I mean..." Tong dramatically spread his hands. "When there are five perfectly fine working days in the week, why Sunday of all fucking days?"

"Especially when we have a killer hangover from last night." Build pushed his dark shades up over his nose. They had their company's Halloween bash last night and almost all of them got hammered pretty well. "And here I'm wearing shades indoors to hide my bloodshot eyes and bags under them." He shook his head and folded his arms over his narrow chest. "Totally unfashionable." For Build, the style was everything.

"Do you remember the early days of Bedazzled?" Apo smiled wider, enthusiastically. Thank god, he didn't have a hangover. During his college days, he found the hard way that alcohol and Apo weren't a good mix. Except for an occasional light beer or a bit of sparkling wine he always remembered to steer clear of booze. "When we first started our company it was just the three of us." He sat comfortably and tried to work up some prep talk for his two friends slash co-owners of the business - Bedazzled. "Whether it was a work day or a holiday, we still worked." He glanced at his two companions with an eager expression. "Look at where we are today. A booming business with a bunch of people working for us."

"Rrrriiiiinnnnng...... Rrrrriiiiiinnnnng...."

Build's phone started ringing, interrupting Apo's monologue.

"Hmm..." The small petite guy ignored the call and took a sip from his cappuccino, wincing a little at the bitter aftertaste. "Apo is right. This would be the first time we're doing a Jewelry and accessory fashion thing and if Cartier hired us it would be a huge leap for our company."

"True." Tong agreed, reluctantly. "It's just that I promised Adrian I would spend all day with him." The older man pouted. It's amazing how a thirty-year-old man could pout and still get away with it. "I hate breaking promises to him." He added softly, his eyes tender. It happened whenever he spoke about his adopted son. Tong can be a total drama queen but to Adrian, he's a perfect dad.

"Rrrriiiiinnnnng...... Rrrrriiiiiinnnnng...."

Build's phone rang, breaking off their conversation, again.

"I don't mind working on Sunday but why would she delay the meeting at the last minute?" Build declined the call. Again. "I could have slept another hour instead of sitting in MacDonalds surrounded by these people." He waved his hand, looking around. Now that he mentioned the place was packed with families having brunch, parents with exhausted faces and children, very eager and loud.
