Lost in your eyes....
Caught up in your smiles...
There's nowhere else I'd rather be....
My heavenly safe place...
~ Past ~
Mile idly plucked the guitar strings with his fingertips to a tune deep within his soul. Closing his eyes and chasing the notes in his mind he fleetingly wished that he could gather the scattered melody and write a song out of it. Unfortunately, he's not a musician. He's just a guitar player.
He was wrenched out of the spell of the music by the ringing of his phone. By searching through the tousled bed linen he found the damn thing. When he noticed Apo's name flashing on the display he picked the phone up without hesitation.
"Hey!" He answered with a smile. "How was the exam?"
"It was okay."
"Are you still there at my place?"
"Yeah," Mile grinned looking around the small cosy apartment. "I'm still lazing on your bed." He heard Apo snorting at the other end. "Why did you ask? Are you bringing someone in?" It had become a running joke between them. Mile already knew that Apo didn't have anyone. Also, he had presumed that the younger was not the type to hook up with random people. He may even be a virgin.
"Not someone," Apo spoke as if he didn't hear the sarcasm in Mile's voice. "I'm bringing lunch for us. I bet your lazy ass is starving."
"Apoooo...." Mile sighed. "You are the best!"
"Flatterer," Younger muttered and disconnected the line.
Placing the guitar aside he slumped back on the bed. He didn't know why he felt so comfortable and relaxed in Apo's little nest. He didn't even feel this much at home in his room at the frat house or none of his girlfriends' places. He didn't know what charm this place held. Was it just this room or did it got something to do with the owner himself?
In all his life he'd never met anyone like Apo. His frat brothers and bandmates had always been by his side but what he shared with the other man was different to what he had with his other friends. He also suspected that Apo may or may not possess a teeny weenie celebrity crush on him. It didn't bother him. As a matter of fact, it flattered him. Apo was a beautiful young man after all.
"I'm home!"
Mile lifted on his elbows to watch Apo remove his shoes at the door.
"What did you bring?" He lowered the cover and sat up on the bed. "I'm dying of hunger."
"If you were dying then why didn't you take that lazy ass out of the bed and order some takeout?" Apo grumbled, immersed in the task of setting two places on his tiny dining table.
"I knew you would feed me." Mile laid back on the bed comfortably, head propping on a hand behind his neck. He watched Apo walk around the room in his university uniform.
