True love doesn't have a happy ending because true love never ends.....

Letting go is one way of saying I love you.......

~ Past ~

He stood there small and bedraggled.

Mile's heart hurt at the sight of Apo's wrinkled clothes and messy hair. His face darkened and eyes vulnerable.

He couldn't help running to Apo and taking him in his arms.

He Squeezed Apo to his chest and inhaled his scent greedily. The ache and his heart receded. The emptiness inside disappeared.

But he didn't feel Apo's arms around him. His lover wasn't hugging him back.

"Tell me it's a lie."

Those softly spoken words were directed right at his heart like a sharp knife.

"I'll believe anything you say, Mile."

Another painful jab.

"Just tell me. Tell me anything and I'll believe."

His heart started beating painfully.

"Apo?" He loosened his embrace and held Apo's shoulders. "Look at me?"

Apo lifted his eyes with expectation. They looked distraught.

"I will tell you everything but you must eat something first." Mile tried to turn around but Apo's hand shot out and grabbed him.

"Mile, please?" He pleaded, eyes shining with unshed tears.

"Oh, baby," Mile felt his eyes tingling too. "Come here." He led Apo to the sofa and sat him down. "I will tell you everything."

Apo didn't reply. He just waited, silently asking Mile to continue.

"It was a deal made by my dad and her dad, Apo. Nothing to do with me or her. She was an infant and I was only seven." Mile said, his voice subdued.

"But," Apo wiped his cheek, getting rid of an escaped tear. "You knew about this?"

Mile nibbled on the corner of his lips.

"You knew that you would have to marry her one day?" Apo's voice was getting stronger. "That's what you meant when you said that you have very little time." He tilted his head, remembering their conversation a long time ago.

"She's only sixteen. Just a child, Apo. It would take years." He held Apo's both hands in his. "This is just my dad trying to teach me a lesson. He knew about us all along." Mile pleaded, trying to catch Apo's eyes.

But Apo was shaking his head.

"What about after, then?" He whispered. "What were you going to do once she's of age, Mile?" He lifted his eyes and glared at Mile. "Would you have married her?" His voice was getting tight. "What would have happened to me then?"
