I walked on this craggy road...
Conscious of the destination...
Thinking you would be there...
My light at the end of the dark tunnel...
But life gives you unexpected...
When you least expect it...

Mile snuck into a corner and discreetly checked his phone. He'd been doing it too often earning glares from his dad. But he needed updates to see whether Apo was enjoying his day even without him.
His instructions were quite specific to Nodt. Bring the gifts and breakfast, escort him to an exclusive lunch at La Boudoir, then to the movie theatre to watch Jurassic World and the day would end with a late, lazy dinner at Bella Italia, Apo's favourite Italian restaurant.
Apo was sharing photos and he was eager to check them.
"I was telling Mr Romsaithong that his son looked like he had so many potentials."
An elderly man in a pinstriped suit who was talking to his dad turned to him as he returned to his dad's side.
"Thank you, sir." Mile offered his most charming smile to the older gentleman.
"And has impeccable manners too." He nodded admirably.
"When he wanted to be." Mile's dad said under his breath but he wouldn't slander his own son in front of a crowd.
Mile hid a smile. He can be a perfect heir if he wanted to be. That didn't mean he had to do everything his dad's way.
"I hope you would attend the diamond auction tomorrow and the gala following." The man patted Mile's shoulder. "I know young people these days have no interest in rarities like diamonds and jewels. They prefer leather and metal to gold and platinum." The man laughed eying Mile's diamond ear stud.
Mile was glad he didn't wear his brass one or worse, the leather or enamel ones. He wondered what would the man's reaction be if he saw Mile in full leather and metal get up while breaking out a lead solo in the middle of a show.
"I see you have a unique taste, young man."
Mile's lips twitched, itching to say something unsavoury just to spite his dad.
"I may be young, sir but I do appreciate the beauty of the rare treasures." He replied instead. Mile smirked seeing his dad's warning look. He has no intention of offending this respectable gentleman. For all, he knew one day he would have to work with the likes of him once he took over the company.
It would have been fun to watch his dad's expression though. Perfect revenge for ruining his weekend.
But he didn't.
