I arrived, carrying a plastic bag, to the address that Ben texted me the night before, being located in an apartment complex. Walking down the long hall of doors, I eventually came across the number I was looking for, and knocked.

From the other side, I heard footsteps grow louder and louder, then finally, accompanied by the sound of unlocking, the door swung open, revealing a familiar brown-haired individual. Ben saw me and grew a wide smile.

"Hey (Y/N)!" he cheerfully greeted, pulling me into a hug.

"You seem in a good mood. I assume it's something related to this good news? Or the fact that this isn't your house?"

Ben swung the door open and gestured me inside, closing the door as I entered. My immediate reaction was that the place was still rather barren. It was furnished with the basics, but it wasn't exactly what one would call decorated. In the background, the television was playing some kind of news program.

"As of last night, the Demacian government has led an extensive effort to rebuild itself after the mysterious terrorist attack in the capital city. However, no mention of Prime Minister Jarvan IV  has been revealed, leading to speculation as to the wellbeing of the Demacian leader..."

"Yeah, so you know I used to live with my parents," he started, cleaning up small bits of trash that littered the area, turning off the television as he did so, "but I figured that it was well overdue for me to get my own place."

He gestured proudly to the apartment we were in.

"And so after saving up for a bit, I finally was able to get an apartment. I'm still working on the payments, but I'm just glad that Sophia and I have our own place now."

I paused in my tracks.

"You're moving in together?" I questioned with a doubtful expression.

"Yeah, I mean why not?"

I shrugged, putting down the bag onto the table. Various silvery cans of alcohol spilled out. I still couldn't shake that bad feeling, but maybe it really was just misplaced skepticism. After all, Ben was a smart guy. He wouldn't move in with someone if he didn't feel like it wasn't a good idea. But at the same time...

"I don't know. Don't you think it's all a little too fast?" I asked him.

"You think so? You live with K/DA though. Is it not the same kind of thing?"

I looked at him with complicated eyes. My situation was different. But I knew the argument of 'it's not the same thing' wasn't exactly the strongest, so I conceded the point.

With a sigh, I accepted it.

"If you say so."

Ben was in a good mood. I should be happy for him.

Suddenly, there came another knock at the door.

"Oh, I invited Sophia and Sera. Is that alright?" Ben asked, making his way to the door.

"Yeah."

With a twist of the knob, immediately a brunette girl jumped into Ben's arms, an affection that he reciprocated. Beside Sophia though, stood Seraphine, who upon locking eyes with me, approached with a wide beaming smile.

"Heya!" she greeted with enthusiasm.

"Hey Sera. What's up?" I responded. I wrapped an arm around her torso as she stood on her toes to plant a quick peck on my cheek.

"Well, you know when Ben said he's gonna get a new place, obviously I'm gonna wanna check it out," she laughed. Scoping out the place for herself, she put a curious finger to the corner of her mouth. "I have to say, this place is miles better than mine."
