Why I gave Shinso the option of having morning training, I'll never know. Apparently past me from yesterday was more ambitious than current me, as evident from my alarm clock I just slapped silent at 6am in the stupid morning. Not even Makoto was awake yet as I ambled blindly downstairs in my workout clothes, my school and gym bag thrown over my shoulder as I ate a quick bowl of cereal.

I grew into the habit of doing most my training at night once my dad had gone to bed, mostly because he sleeps like the dead. That would logically have meant that I would wake up later, but no, that never worked in my favor. A part of my physical therapy from early on had my trainer coming early before school some days of the week and help 'wake up my lungs', or whatever happy term they wanted to slap on the torture that is running. However, after so many years of that schedule, it became second nature to just stay up late and then wake up early. Never means I liked doing it, but it became my norm.

In keeping with that tradition, I decided instead of taking the train the entire way to school, I would get off several stops early and run. I would have just ran the whole way, but that would be almost an hour and half of pure running, and I don't hate myself enough to do that before two hours of hand to hand combat training.

"Morning... Shinso..." I pant out after my thirty minute run to school, finding the purple haired boy waiting for me already at the door to the gym.

"Did you run here?" He asks, one brow raised in surprise.

"Yup." I breathe out one big breath and hate myself for my life choice so soon after the tournament. "Terrible idea, don't think I should have done that." I grin at him as my breathing returns back to normal. "How far away do you live? If it's within running distance, I would recommend doing that a few days a week. Builds up stamina and, as my physical therapist would always sing out to me, 'wakes up your lungs for a bright new day'." I mockingly finish as I remember her ever present smile and chipper attitude.

"Please don't say that to me, I'll leave." He deadpans at me. "Physical therapist?" He asks as an after thought as we walk into the gym and start to stretch.

"Yeah, after I was hurt as a child, my lungs were super damaged. Had to re-learn how to breathe, basically." I say as I casually correct his stretches when I find errors, showing him new ones he can do as well. "As much as I'm a happy person now, that woman, Ms. Sasaki, she was the embodiment of a ray of sunshine. Not the best match up for a depressed child, but eventually she rubbed off on me."

"I don't think I could imagine you depressed." He chuckles out as we finish our stretches. "What happened?"

"Hmm, how about you learn to beat me in a fight, then I'll tell you." I smirk at him, ready to get to training and not wanting to talk about it anymore.

"Well then I better hope my trainer is good." He smirks back at me, taking a semblance of a battle position. I frown when I see many errors, and go over to move him here and there into the right position.

"I'll expect a thank you once you receive your first hero award." I grin at him as I take my own position opposite him. "I'll demonstrate first, then you reciprocate so you can get the feel of both receiving and performing the movements." I state and then we begin to spar, moving slightly faster and stronger as we exchange blows and he grows more confident. "We'll strictly stick to non-quirk training together. Your quirk, while powerful when it's in use, has the disadvantage of being useless in some situations, like the entrance exam or when your opponent knows how it works. You need to train yourself to be versatile so you can adapt to anything. Sort of like Mr. Aizawa, who I'm convinced is secretly your father, he's a total badass in hand to hand combat when his super powerful quirk is useless."

"He's not my child." I hear from behind us. I spin around to see who said that and get decked in the stomach by Shinso when he noticed I wasn't looking. "Gotta pay more attention than that, Yoarashi." Aizawa smirks at me as he walks up casually.
