For days those of us involved with the Hassaikai case pushed ourselves to our limits in class and in our own personal training. Our attitudes were grim as we waited for the call, even Eijiro and I, the two most smiley people in the class, barely cracked a smirk in the week that followed the meeting.
"Ri-Ri? You're eating less than usual." Mashirao pointed out at lunch one day. My mind had been spinning with worry on the case, bouncing around thinking about the little girl, about Overhaul, and about the League. I was so preoccupied that I didn't notice I had sat there with my chopsticks halfway to my mouth for so long that my noodles were cold now.
"I'm guessing it's not the food that is making you hesitate to eat?" Tokoyami asks next, Koda nodding at his side. "Is it something you want to share with us? We may be able to assist you in some way."
"I wish I could tell you, but I can't." I answer truthfully, shoving the cold noodles in my mouth quickly and swallowing them with a grimace. Cold spicy food just doesn't hit the same way as piping hot spicy food does. "It's confidential and related to my work study, so unfortunately I can't share the details. I can't even tell Inasa."
"Please remember to eat three meals a day regardless." Shoji chimes in kindly, pushing my still nearly full plate of food towards me. "That way your mind and body are strong enough to handle whatever the mystery case may throw at you."
'And if you want, you can always come cuddle with Mizu to calm you down after class.' Koda signs to me with a smile.
"And we can always spar to vent some of your frustrations." Mashirao offers to me, and I feel my heart grow warm.
"You guys are seriously the best!" I break my first smile in what feels like forever as I scarf down my food quickly.
"Well at least you didn't cry." Kaminari says, coming up to my side of the table on his way out of the cafeteria. "Look at Midoriya." He nods his head to another table, and we all see Midoriya crying as he too scarfs his food down.
"Don't be mean." I chastise my electric friend. "We're under a lot of stress. Besides, Midoriya cries often, it's not news."
"Valid." He chuckles sheepishly. "I'm gonna play our game tonight for a few hours, let me know if you wanna join and space out together as we kill zombie villains." He offers with a broad grin that shows a bit more understanding than normal.
"Thanks, I might take all of you up on your offers." I tell him and my table of friends.
"It's always fun to have a member of the RashiSquad come and hang out with the BakuSquad, even if you are a member of both." He nudges me as he moves on, laughing to himself as he leaves.
"RashiSquad?" I ask my table in confusion, and Tokoyami sighs.
"That is what our little lunch group has been labeled as." Tokoyami answers tiredly. "It's because of both yours and Ojiro's names, and apparently we were in need of a label, though I can't fathom why. It was Ashido's doing, of course, and she's nearly as unrelenting as you are when her mind is made up."
"You mean we're not the Revelry Rebels?!" I ask loudly in shock, standing abruptly. "I totally thought we were!"
"Ri-Ri, you just made that up now, don't try and act offended." Mashirao calls me out, making me pout as I sit back down. I never thought to name our group, and now I'm sad my window of opportunity has already passed. I finish my juice quickly before heading back to class, quickly scribbling in some of my homework answers so I don't have to do them tonight.
I took each of the boys' offers up that night since I didn't have any quirk training or Shinso training. I sparred for a couple of hours with Mashirao, just doing our normal martial arts together. We do this at least once a week, but today is an extra session just for stress relief. I cuddled Mizu the whole time that dinner was being cooked, getting little bunny kisses as I nearly squeeze the life out of him. Shoji makes sure I ate my dinner while Tokoyami checked over my English homework for me to make sure it's all done and right. And then I spent a large chunk of the evening in Kaminari's room playing video games. Eijiro and Sero watched us, but Mina was hanging with the girls and Bakugo was asleep like the old man he is, so it was only half a BakuSquad.
