I was lifting into the air to repeat that same process of finding another victim when suddenly a huge explosion on the other end of the field caught my attention, followed by several other explosions throughout the arena. At first I thought maybe Bakugo blew a fuse or something, but then I saw almost a hundred people dressed in black running out of the hole the bigger explosion made in the arena wall.
Then my next thought was that it was villains, real villains, once again attacking a hero event. My body tensed and my breathing picked up as I felt adrenaline and fear flood my entire being.
"A villain has completed another large scale attack." Mera says calmly over the intercom, and I start to relax at least a little bit.
It wasn't until I spotted Gang Orca at the center of the 'villains' that I realized this is a part of the exam and not the League of Villains attacking us yet again. Maybe I'm getting a bit of PTSD from all the attacks.
Those with strong combat quirks are needed right now to face the villains. I fall into that category, but I'm also good at the rescue part. I froze for a moment on where I was better to be at, but then I spotted Inasa flying to the villains and knew he had that handled, at least for now. I want to save one more person, then I'll go help.
I found a little girl crying in a park behind a downed tree, and carried her in my arms as I flew her to the medical area. The medical area was getting advanced on though by the income villains, so I couldn't just set her down. I looked around and found Mashirao and shoved her in his hands.
"Take her out of here, I'm going to help keep the villains back." I tell my friend, and he nods and holds the girl tight as he rushed to the new medical area that's also the exit. He's so good with kids, I knew he would be a good choice to take the initiative and not waste time asking questions.
When I get on the site of the villains, I can't believe what I'm seeing. Inasa and Todoroki are both there, only they're deliberately crossing their attacks to try and cancel the other's out. Or at least, Inasa is doing it deliberately, but Todoroki is also at fault because he's trained for months on how to combine his fire with my wind, he knows better than whatever the hell they're doing now. I was getting ready to yell at them, but one of their fire/wind attacks ended up flying towards that Shindo boy who was laying helplessly on the ground.
I flew at my full speed to intercept the attack before it hit Shindo, using my wind to lift the high speed fire winds above us into the wall. At the same time, Midoriya ran up and got Shindo out of the path of the fire and took him to safety. I flew over and sent a strong, but not quite sharp enough to cut skin, gust at both the idiotic boys.
"Both of you are ridiculous, fighting each other instead of the enemy." I yell at them, taking out my staff and forming it into a scythe. I sent an arc of wind, not quite deadly sharp but definitely strong enough to leave a mark, straight at Gang Orca in an attempt to keep him back. Thank goodness Ectoplasm had the idea to make non-sharp Wind Scar's as well. I think he got tired of being sliced in half. "Inasa, put your personal grudge aside for long enough to ensure your own future! Todoroki, you have no excuse on how you're failing at working with him, he and I have the same quirk! You've trained with me for months, I know you can make a powerful attack! Now work together!" I yell all this while sending out more attacks, but see that the other villains are getting by us.
I leave them to sort out their problems. I don't go too far though, Inasa is paralyzed and I won't leave him defenseless, but I do need to take down these other villains and prioritize the bystanders safety. I retract the blade on my scythe and use it as a staff once again, taking down several villains at a time with ease. They seem to not be fighting with quirks but instead weird cement guns, but it's easy enough to send the gunk away with my wind. Well, it would be easier if I wasn't maxed out on my quirk usage right now, so I'm mostly just dodging. If I use it too much more wind, it's going to start affecting my lungs. Already it's getting difficult to breathe, so I use mostly my martial arts on the villains.
