First day back after the wonderful week and a half long break.
And in honor to celebrate the students return back to school, the student council has put in spirit week! They've spent the last two days promoting the event on the school's social media account to remind people, and multiple emails have been sent.
Here's a quick rundown.
Day 1, October 30th: Pyjama day. A classic, a fan favorite, and a great way to kick start the first official spirit week put together by the student council.
Day 2, October 31st: Halloween. Come dressed in costume! Keep it school appropriate and in dress code though!
Day 3, November 1st: Twin day. How original, and another fan favorite. It's not spirit week if there isn't a twin day thrown in there.
Day 4, November 2nd: Decades day. A day for the boys to dress like nineties hip hop artists, and girls to explore the wonders of the hippie era from the late sixties to seventies.
Day 5, November 3rd: White lie day. Where people attach a little white lie to themselves, while keeping it school appropriate, because nobody wants to get in trouble.
And, it's unofficial, but Calum Hood's famous Halloween party is on Saturday. Word has quickly spread around, and a few of the underclassmen have tried texting, or even approaching the guy – before the break – hoping to get invited. They weren't, because who wants a fourteen-year-old at a party with people who are eighteen, or about to be eighteen.
It's exclusively seniors and juniors... the socially relevant ones anyways. And besides, no freshman, no ninth-grader will pay the crazy entrance fee Calum set up for them. It's more than double the price than his classmates had to pay.
Yes, pay. Since, he's hosting the party at his house, and will be single handedly responsible for funding all the alcohol, none of it will be coming out of his pocket. With half of the senior class, and part of the junior class attending, there will be over 70 people at his house. Which may not be a lot for regular standards, but is definitely some sort of maximum capacity being reached.
Nevertheless, the Halloween party is a tradition. And if a person gets invited, it's some sort of right of passage. It means you're cool, well liked, known enough to go to a real high school party.
And as Luke walks towards his lunch table, he can already hear chatter happening about what people are going to wear on Saturday. There are the usuals; devils, angels, boxers, Harley Quinn.
The blond sits down, dropping his bag next to him on the bench, joining in late for a discussion of some sort. "Okay, okay, hold on guys." Calum says, typing on his phone, "What are the costumes people aren't allowed to wear?"
"Painter."
"Carpenter."
"Harley Quinn and the Joker."
"And the characters from Winx Club!"
"Jessie from Toy Story."
The group answers, leaving Luke confused as to what is going on. "What are we talking about?" He asks, hoping to gain some clarification on what he has joined, and whether or not he needs to contribute.
"I'm telling the group chat not to come dressed as." Calum responds, typing away all the answers he's got, causing a little ping to sound from Luke's phone that notifies him that someone is typing.
"Why?" Luke asks further, having not caught up.
"Because, we don't want outfit repeats." He replies, "Imagine coming dressed as something and having someone else show you up, you know?" He poorly explains. This wasn't his idea, it was Helen's and Lovisa's, he's simply the messenger. "Speaking of, Luke, what are you coming as?"
