Sitting out in the courtyard at their table, the sun beating down on the group as Aria begins to plan the guest list for her party. A party she didn't even consider having until Luke told her to.
They've got the basics planned out: party starts at eight, goes until midnight, plus one's have to be approved, underclassmen aren't allowed, no entry fee but people are always encouraged to bring drinks.
Calum sits next to the girl, his phone in hand to make the – last-minute – group chat with all the potential guests. If she would have come to him sooner, or at least, agreed to the idea of having a party, there would be a much higher attendance rate.
People need at least two weeks – whether it be to arrange rides, places to stay, and they need the time to actually contemplate if they want to show up – in advance, not three days.
Then again, with someone like Calum hosting it, there's no doubt that people have a choice. No one, no one, ever wants to miss out. He's got a nice house, he's always stacked with drinks, and his parents never seem to care.
"Who are we inviting?" He asks, glancing at the girl from the corner of his eye, the list of all his contacts appearing on his phone – all ready to be selected.
"Well, obviously us." Aria says, watching Calum begin to select the names of the people around the table – Jonah, Sade, Michael. "And the girls, like Cheidza, Lauren and them. Also, Rapha's group, Eloise's group, Lucy, and part of Kea's group – but I can add them myself." She mentions.
"Damn, since when did you have that many friends?" Michael jokes, playing with the tab of his drink, eventually breaking it off and tossing it into the empty can.
She rolls her eyes, continuing to search her mind for all the people she could invite. It's not like she's friends with everyone, she's friends with a few individuals within each group, and if she invites one person, may as well invite the entire collection.
"Oh! Zoe, in eleventh grade, and some of her friends. Like Cindy, Mariana, and Jana." She says, "Not Mia, I don't like her and to be fair neither do her friends. She can be a plus one, but I'm not inviting her."
"Hold on, you're friends with Zoe now?" Michael questions, he understands that Aria – being a social floater – has connections, but he didn't know she was close with half the people she talks to. "When did that happen?"
"She's one of my bathroom buddies," Aria shrugs, "and she tells me all the drama going on in her little circle. Oh! Right," she cuts herself off, "you can invite your friends."
She's being realistic, no one would show up if the boys didn't. It's stupid, but it's the truth. Everyone seems to dickride the guys, and while Calum can get people talking, he means nothing unless his friends were to back him up.
On top of that, she has dramatically warmed up to the boys, and they aren't bad to be around during parties. Aria, believe it or not, actually enjoys talking to them in that social setting. They're funny, easy going, and well, maybe she's just tipsy but they aren't the shallow assholes she thought.
"Okay, so we're basically inviting everyone." Calum nods, running down his list and selecting almost every name he's got saved. "What about Lyla and Gaby?" He asks, familiar with Aria's long history with them – a history that he helped write. But hey, if she can pretend he isn't the devil anymore, he can do the same with them.
"Invite them, I don't really care." She informs, "I'm cool with Gaby, we talk during Spanish and she's on my private... With Lyla, it's whatever."
"And, uh, what about Luke?" Calum asks, curiosity tinged with a touch of caution.
