As the youngest Shelby child and twin to Finn Shelby, Kezia has spent the last 4 of her 10 years locked away for her mental defectiveness.
She returns to Small Heath under the legal guardianship of her brother, Thomas Shelby. Despite knowing she's s...

Believe it or not, we're almost done with season one. I plan on fudging the timelines a bit in regards to the ages of everyone going forward in the next seasons.
Also, according to the Peaky Blinders wiki, Alfie is only supposed to be 2 years older than Tommy. I did the math and Tommy and Finn are 18 years apart. Which means Kizzie and Alfie are 20 years apart. Goodness me. 🥴
There will be no underage sexual stuff. Alfie is a bad boy but he's not that bad.
CHAPTER NINE
Kizzie had been venturing into Camden Town for two weeks. Almost daily.
It became a delicious addiction.
Sure, the bread was delicious and perfect between her fingers, but her soldier became her obsession.
She heard the man more than she saw him. A grumpy bear with a penchant for cursing and violence. But, when he took the time to speak, he was eloquent and intelligent in a way Kizzie knew most people didn't expect. He mirrored her mind. So often, she could not form words that matched what her mind said. But he bridged the gap beautifully.
He was beautiful.
Sometimes he came up to the bakery, but mostly he stayed in the back where it smelled like spicy alcohol.
Their eyes always met almost immediately. Kizzie lost most of the fear of acknowledging him. They never spoke to each other. That probably helped. Kizzie had no clue what to even say to the man. Especially since their first actual meeting had been during the war. That made her nervous sometimes; her soldier was not a shy man. Why hadn't he asked her about it?
"She's been coming in almost daily, sir." The man closed the back door. They stood at the landing that led to the distillery. "Should I have someone follow her home?"
Yes. He should. Alfie's phantom girl was not Jewish. But she certainly passed for one with that hair.
A spy. That's what she was. But for whom? Alfie debated for a long while on it. But it fucking hurt. Hurt his fucking heart to think bad about the phantom girl. He'd experienced her in France and he believed her a delusion. An extremely realistic delusion. But so many men had gone crazy in the trenches. Why should this have been any different?
"Do it."
Alfie lingered on the girl in his shop. A little bird... The pet name whispered against his skull from the moment he saw her reappear weeks ago. Only this time, she was real. Tangible and people and his stupid dog saw her. Cyril loved her. Animals were the greatest judge of character. That was another issue. What kind of spy would come into his bakery every day and order Challah and play with his dog? She never asked questions. None of his men saw her try to open doors or sneak around the building.
He'd have an answer soon.
The foreign feeling of guilt tugged at him. This needed to stop...
☻
Kizzie was being watched.
Not uncommon. Tommy had people watching her all the time. But this felt...different.
She was almost back in Small Heath when a car pulled alongside her on the sidewalk.
A man drove. He looked older than her brothers but bore a resemblance that Kizzie loved.
"Good day, Kezia Shelby," he spoke in Shelta.
Kizzie did little to hide her surprise. "You are like me."
"Aye." He motioned to the back seat of his car. "And we know Tommy. Some trouble is going on at home and he said it's best for you to come with us. Just until things calm down."
"Oh."
"Our camp is just outside the city. We've horses, warm food, and fresh bread."
"I love bread!"
The man smiled. "C'mon then!"
Kizzie hopped into the car, not noticing a man watching the entire exchange from down the road.
