Beomgyu was a beta.
Everyone knew that fact, and he was happy with it. Until....he found himself falling for not one, but two Alphas. In this era, two Alphas dating was not much of a deal. But people still didn't want to get into a relationship with a beta.
You ask why?

Because a beta can't feel things like them. They don't have super smelling insticts, neither they go into heats or ruts. They also don't feel a mating bond like an Alpha Omega, Omega Omega or Alpha Alpha would feel. Betas were considered completey different. In the society, they were seen as the workers and neutrals. Betas worked best with another Beta.

And Beomgyu was never bothered with this fact before. Infact he was proud of it because being a Beta idol is the best. You won't feel overwhelmed by other's scents and you won't have to deal with heats or ruts in between comeback promotions. But after finding himself falling for two absolutely hot and nice Alphas, who were his own bandmates, he started doubting himself. He often thought "If only I was an Omega or Alpha, maybe they would like me."

Today was no different. He walked into the dorm with the other four members, tired from their Studio Choom performance shoot.
"Good work guys! Now get some rest. Me and Taehyunnie will be in my room." Soobin said pecking Taehyun cheeks which resulted in Taehyun blushing.

"Yeah! Me and Yeonjun hyung will be in the living room, enjoy you two." Kai said wrapping his arms around Yeonjun's waist.

Beomgyu just stood there, feeling left out. He felt like he didn't belong here sometimes. Soobin was an Alpha who had his Omega Taehyun. And Yeonjun was in a relationship with Kai, their maknae.

Beomgyu was the only one single. He felt jealous when he saw Kai holding Yeonjun. He wanted it to be him. Held by Kai or Holding Yeonjun. But he was unlucky. They would never look his way like that. He's just a beta.

He stood there not moving, lost in his own thoughts. He didn't even notice when Kai was so close to him.

"Hyung, Do you want to watch a movie and cuddle with me and Yeonjun hyung?" Kai asked him with the same adorable smile of his.

Beomgyu got out of his trance and looked at Kai, blinking. Why is Kai asking to join them?

"Huh? Me? With you and Hyung?" Beomgyu asked unsure.

"Yeah with us. Why? Do you not want to? That's fine if you don't want to." Kai looked like a kicked puppy while speaking. It made Beomgyu's heart clench so bad.

"No no! It's not that! I mean.... don't you want to spend time alone with each other?" Beomgyu asked looking down.

"Huh? No it's fine. We want to spend time with you hyung. Can't I cuddle with my favourite hyung?" Kai said giggling.

"Favorite hyung? I'm your favourite hyung?" Beomgyu asked surprised. Did Kai just said he was his favourite hyung?

"No Beomgyu, don't think anything else. He's just saying it casually. It doesn't means anything." Beomgyu thought to himself.

"Yeah, you're my favourite hyung... don't tell this to Yeonjun hyung tho." Kai said laughing. But he stopped laughing when he saw Beomgyu's blank face.

"Hyung what happened? Did I say something wrong?" He said cupping Beomgyu's cheeks, looking at him like Beomgyu was the most precious thing to him.

It was hard for Beomgyu to supress his feelings like this. If they keep doing this, he would assume things which would only end up hurting him. He nodded his head as no and removed Kai's hands from his face.

"Kai? Where is Gyu? Come here you two~" Yeonjun yelled from the couch.

Beomgyu looked at them, and scoffed.
"I'm going to my room. I feel tired. Sorry." Beomgyu said coldly and walked away entering his room and closing the door shut.

Kai and Yeonjun both were confused. Why was Beomgyu acting like this?
Yeonjun approached Kai and asked-
"Kai did you say something to Beomgyu? He usually never denies cuddles. What happened to him?" Yeonjun asked worried about Beomgyu.

"No hyung. I didn't say anything. I don't why he is acting like that either. Lately he's been acting a little weird to us. He's fine with Taehyunnie and Soobin hyung though." Kai said pouting.

"Yeah I noticed that too. Wait, did he perhaps found out that we like him? We were too obvious weren't we? I knew it, why would he like us." Yeonjun said groaning.

"Ugh this is so frustrating. We fucked up didn't we?" Kai said pulling his hair in frustration. They should have been more subtle about their crush on the beta.

The two of them liked Beomgyu. Kai was surprised when Yeonjun told him that he liked them both of them too. Kai was very happy to know that and so was Yeonjun. But the problem was Beomgyu. Beomgyu is a beta, and Betas usually date Betas, why would Beomgyu even like two Alphas? But still, they had some hope in them. But now it seemed to be shattered.

They walked towards the couch sighing sadly, cuddling together. They will figure out things another day.
