At breakfast the silence overwhelms you. you and Peeta try to start a conversation a couple of times but they die out quickly, Lain just nods and Tallom just watches TikTok's with full volume. you realised you didn't like either of them much. (a/n ik they probably don't have phones in Panem but .......... MY WORLD MY RULES)
Eventually Haymitch came in and Tallom quickly put away her phone. "so. theres a break day today, since all of the kids from district one got food poising." he said as he sat down. "i know" he said as you all looked at him "they just don't want the careers to have a disadvantage." Like that would ever happen you thought and rolled your eyes. "what are we meant to do then?" Tallom asked impaciontly "whatever you want" haymitch replied, and tallom swiftly resumed scrolling
Peeta's Pov:
I led her/him/them up the stairs to the roof. since we had all day i had ordere d a picnic for us up here. they gasped and squeezed my hand. I pulled them into a hug and they kissed me on the cheek.
I led her/him/them to the picnic blanket and sat them down. we ate on and off all day. she/he/they kept dozing off with their head in my lap.
