Audrey's POV
Once we got back up to the overworld and onto the streets I finally realized how tired I was. I'd barely eaten in who knows how long and my legs hurt so much I didn't know if I would be able to walk much more.
"What year is it" Lincoln joked as we walked outside "actually yeah how long were we gone" I said walking over to a store across the street I checked their calendar and my heart dropped.
"JULY 7th! What the fuck!" I shouted "What!" A few people replied back "we've been gone for like four MONTHS, holy shit everyone's gonna think we died we are so screwed" I said trying not to panic it wasn't working though.
"Oh my gods Summer started already Poor Will" Lincoln said which just made everything worse.
"We have to get back to camp like yesterday"I shouted i didn't know what to do July 7th how did we leave for that long "yeah but we don't really have a car or money to fly" Lincoln replied.
"Umm guys can't we just call camp" Janvi interrupted us "oh yeah probably a good idea" Lincoln replied.
Almost everyone went over to join the call to tell camp we weren't dead. Michael was already looking around not really paying attention I mean after being dead for 5 years I would also be a little curious of new stuff.
Lee came and sat down next to me on the side of the road "it's weird being the same age as you" he said trying to distract me but it just made me realize we were the same age which made me start crying again "I'm the worst person ever" I said Lee tried to hug me well trying to mouth to the others everything was fine, except it wasn't fine.
"Why are you crying now" he asked "because you died and it's July 7th! Why couldn't it be the 6th or the 8th I promised him" I said still crying "promised who" Lee asked. I stopped crying for a second I couldn't tell Lee I had a boyfriend NOW that wouldn't end well.
I mean Lee and Michael dispite how they act are very over protective and I mean if I told them we'd probably get back to New York very fast but they'd also probably wanna kill him so I'd rather not deal with that today.
I must have been starting off for a while because Lee waved his hand in front of my face "Earth to Audrey can you hear me" he said "I can hear you just fine" I said. "Promised who you said you promised someone something" he asked.
"Uhh..." I said I couldn't lie this sucked and Lee knew that "a friend he was worried about the quest and I told him we wouldn't be more then a couple of weeks" I answered
"A friend?" Lee asked "Yeah a friend and it may or may not be his birthday today" I added "wow you're a sucky friend" Lee said getting up.
The others finished their call and told us Argus was coming to pick us up. We argued over who'd get the front seat and eventually came to an agreement. Once he got to camp we all squished into the van and started our journey back home.
After a few hours (and a couple magic skips later) we finally made it to New York and soon back to camp. As we drove past Manhattan Michael was surprised to see it was all still standing.
"Just making sure we did have a war here right I didn't hallucinate that one" Michael asked "oh yes there was just the mist may have shown something else we aren't quite sure but probably a bunch of natural disasters" I answered.
"Oh okay so who's been in charge of the cabin" He then asked "hasn't Bella told you anything she was in Elysium right" Lincoln asked "yeah she was but she said she didn't want to reminisce on the past of whatever so neither of us know like anything" Michael replied.
"Well Ever since the battle it's been me and Bella in charge and when Bella wasn't there it was me and Jasper" I answered "you in charge surprised camp is still standing... it is still standing right" Lee asked.
"You know I'm not an immature kid anymore I'll have you know" i replied. "Well at least we know you kept up with your English" Michael said which really started to piss me off they still didn't think I could run the cabin.
"Yeah sometimes his accent still slips" Lincoln said "no it doesn't cram it" I yelled. "We're just teasing you Audrey but you're definitely Michaels brother with that temper" Lee said which made me chuckle it did not amuse Michael however.
Once we got back to camp everyone else took off towards the cabin or their friends I stayed back to help Lee and Michael deal with coming back to camp I mean it's a big chance five years. "So before we go back to camp mind explaining" Lee asked again pointing at my face.
"Yeah please don't tell me you feel into the fire again" Michael added "no it was Thalia we were playing capture the flag and a Poseidon kid came by and dunked and bunch of water on us and she shocked the ground and yeah you can guess the rest" I explained
"Wait there's more Poseidon kids!" Lee yelled "yeah quite a few if you ask me a few to many" I said. "And Thalia like the Zeus girl" he asked and I nodded "okay I can deal with that at least it wasn't something stupid" Lee replied.
It was late at night so we started walking up Halfblood hill just wanting to get back to the cabin and have a good nights rest. We got stopped by the two people on guard "stop who go... YEW?" A familiar voice asked then she took of her helmet honestly the spear was enough to tell who it was alone.
"Oh hi clarrise" Michael replied nervously moving her spear away from his neck "who's there" Jalen asked walking over.
"Jalen!" I yelled then tried to hug her of corse she pushed me back "fine whatever these are my brothers" I said excitedly "you have a lot of those you're gonna need to specify" Jalen replied.
"This is Lee Fletcher and this is Michael Yew" I said they both gave an awkward hello. "Well whatever you guys are clear to go I guess" Jalen said letting us pass.
We started walking down the hill towards the cabins I saw the warm light of the campfire then I turned and saw something not so comforting.
"Hey guys" a familiar voice said "I swear to god Rachel" I replied "sorry I can't really help it" she replied.
"Actually it's for Lee Fletcher not you" she said which gave me a quick feeling of relief before realizing what she said "no no. No he just got back please Rachel" I said "take it up with your dad" she replied.
She explained she'd gotten a message apparently there was a necklace somewhere in Manhattan that Apollo wanted Lee to retrieve like now "can't we have one day off please the man was dead for gods sake" I pleaded
"It's fine it's just finding a necklace shouldn't take long when do I have to leave" Lee asked trying to reassure me. "Like as soon as possible" Rachel replied.
I told Lee to wait where he was and I'd be back with the stuff for the mission and maybe a few people to help.
I ran to the Athena cabin and grabbed Heja "need you for a quest meet at the tree in 20 minutes!" I said then ran out the door. I then ran to the Hermes cabin and grabbed Ej "pack your stuff meet me at the tree in 20 we gotta go"I said then shut the door.
Honestly at this point I knew the second I laid Down I wouldn't get up for about a year so I just didn't stop moving. I met back up with Lee and we waited for the two to show up. Once they did I quickly introduced them.
"Heja, Ej meet Lee Fletcher and the other way let's go get this over with" I said pushing them to the car. Once we got into the car I saw the time. 10:48 I stil had time. "Uhh I'll be back in like two minutes" I said running out the van and towards the cabins.
I grabbed a pen and paper and wrote quickly

I kinda really scribbled my name but you try being half dead and writing a not well running. I quickly found a nail and nailed the note to cabin 9s door then ran back to the van.
"Where'd you have to go in a hurry" Lee asked "had to drop something off" I replied "yeah to your BOYFRIEND" Ej said making kissy faces "they are joking...they're lying" I said.
"Sure..whatever you say" Lee replied starting the car then we were off on another quest.
