It's been three weeks since the shipment mission. Not much happened after that. We waited for the trucks, and then we got back to base. After that, the Task Force and the Mexicans were still in my base, and some of them—I won't say their names—decided that because we had a lot of free time, it would be nice to pull some pranks.
At first, they were very innocent, but as time passed, they became a pain in my ass. The most annoying thing was that my men also participated in some of them. I tried to not show how much it irritated me, but every human has their limits. So I'll tell you about the last prank. I know you want to know, you filthy rascals.
So everything happened in the evening of a rainy Friday. Lighting and thunder were all you could hear Actually, no, I am being melodramatic. I wanted to make the scenery scary, but it wasn't in reality. It was a normal sunny afternoon, and everyone was doing their own thing.
I was in the gym about to do my lifting set when I noticed that I was all alone. That was a first. The gym is always filled with people. I knew something was going on, so I took off my headphones and listened closely. Nothing. Not a single soul was there. And then it happened. The lights went off. I didn't scream or anything. I just stood there. But if you knew me, you know that I always keep some kind of weapon close to me. You might remember it from me pointing a gun at Alejandro. And of course, I had a knife with me.
So when I heard people shuffling, I pulled it out. I had a feeling that it was Soap, but he needed to learn a lesson. You might think that I am overreacting now, but when you explain something more than three times and they continue to do it, you take measures in your own hands.
I twisted the knife in my fingers. The familiar hot metal is waiting to be used. Someone was behind me, and I took two steps forward. As I did that, the lights were back on. And now I could see the bigger figure that stood behind me. Quickly, I turned and threw the knife at it. I can tell you that they didn't see that coming.
"Are you out of your freaking mind?" Soap yelled.
"I told you. No more pranks!"
"You could have killed me!"
"But I didn't."
He touched his ear. "I am bleeding!"
"My period blood is more than that." I said, picking up my things and walking over to the wall where my knife was.
"Not cool, Ellie."
"Your pranks are not cool, Johnny." I said, taking the knife off the wall. "Find something better to do with your life, or next time I won't miss." I went to the door.
"You would never kill me!"
"I am full of surprises." I said, exiting the gym. Leaving Soap behind me.
That happened yesterday. Soap is now acting like a little kid and doesn't want to talk to me, but it will pass. He doesn't like that he has to walk around with a bandage on his right ear. Everyone has asked him what happened, but he refuses to answer.
Now I am in the rec room all by myself, and I am watching some stupid show. They talk about what some celebrities are doing with their luxurious lives, or they show what happened around the world this week. If they knew what was actually happening in the world, they would probably jump off the nearest cliff. Not everyone can handle the truth, so it's better to let them live in their little bubble where everything is perfect.
Alejandro just walked through the doors. When he spotted me, he walked closer to me, looking around, making sure we were alone. When he saw that no one was in here, he cupped my face and quickly put his lips to mine.
