Hugo wasn't at the gym today, off doing whatever college kids do during spring break so I find myself bored out of my mind and hoping I can see Ivy, even if I saw her yesterday when we were on the plane back from California... and every day the entire week of spring break.

To Princess💖👸🏻👅: Do you want to come over, get some pizza and watch a movie?

To Princess💖👸🏻👅: BTW when did you have the chance to add those emojis to your contact?

From Princess💖👸🏻👅: i may or may not have added them when u were asleep on the plane... DO NOT CHANGE THEM!!!

From Princess💖👸🏻👅: also i cant come over :(

From Princess💖👸🏻👅: planning dylan's 18th birthday!! 🎉

To Princess💖👸🏻👅: Ok, have fun. I'll see you tomorrow.

From Princess💖👸🏻👅: see u tomorrow babeeee

I know it's probably stupid and crazy to try and grasp the tone of a text message but even if Ivy is always excited in her texts she never texts this excitedly.

Something seems off.

Was I wrong that we were good after our shower together a couple of days ago and the day in the cabana? Was she just pretending it was a good time so that it wouldn't be more awkward between us and so she could let me down easily once we got back to New York?

Fuck.

Without a second's hesitation, I turn around from my place on the sidewalk and walk back towards the gym, needing to calm these swirling thoughts with another gym session. The gym was one of Ivy's suggestions to keep the negative thoughts at bay after she did her research on depression, stating that regular exercise would give me a distraction and help increase my mood.

I can't even use my method of getting rid of my swirling thoughts of Ivy because they also just remind me of Ivy.

Whatever. It's worth a shot just to try.

It's probably the dumbest thing in the world to say that I kind of missed school. I didn't miss 99.9% of the people or the teachers but I did miss one person who goes here and with school back I guaranteed get to see her five days a week.

As I'm walking through the hallways at school I don't see her at Dylan's or her locker where they both usually congregate in the mornings but before I can go looking for her anymore the warning bell rings and I just tell myself that I'll see her at lunch.

On the way to my class, I'm turning the corner onto the hallway it's on when some guy slings his arm around my shoulder and pulls me aside, "you're Nathan, right?"
