The sun sets on our first night in California while everyone is gathered at the long wooden table on the back porch, we're all laughing and eating some good salmon that my uncles went and got at the grocery store today. I'm curled up against Nathan as the wind sets in and his arm is protectively around me to keep me warm.

"I have an idea for what we should do tonight." I whisper into his ear.

"Yeah? What is it?" He responds, moving me on his lap slightly so he can look at me while I talk.

"Dylan and I made vacation bucket lists last night before you came over and one of the things on mine was to go skinny dipping under the moonlight. So do you want to go tonight while everyone's sleeping?"

"Sneak out of the house?" He questions, raising an eyebrow, "how are we gonna leave the house when there are 18 million people in it?"

"We go when everyone's asleep, duh." I say like it's the most obvious thing ever, "It'll be easy we'll sneak out the backdoor and leave it unlocked so when we come back we can just slip right in and go back to our room."

"You're dangerous, Princess." He whispers into my neck, tucking his head into the spot between my shoulder and my head.

"Is that a yes?"

"I'll do whatever you want."

"Perfect," I clap happily, tucking my head into his and dropping my voice, "don't forget to bring condoms either."

He goes rigid beneath me before lifting his head from the crook of my neck and leveling me with dark eyes. I giggle and curl myself into him, turning myself back towards the conversation happening at the table.

The conversation continues for hours into the night, blankets being grabbed from the living room to combat the growing nighttime chill. the girls go back to their room first, citing they want to pull their first all-nighter because they are almost double digits even if the rest of us know they aren't going to make it past midnight. Ryder and Jackson follow next, Jackson throwing a passed our Ryder over his shoulder and telling everyone goodnight.

With the rest of the kids gone Nathan and I decide it's our turn to leave, my body stretching as it hits the wooden deck after being curled up on Nathan's lap. He wraps an arm around my waist and starts walking us back into the house as we both wave our goodbyes over our shoulders.

"Keep the door unlocked! I don't care that we're on vacation!" My dad calls right before the door closes behind us and I can hear my mom reprimanding him for being too loud so late at night.

We make our way us the stairs in a rush, closing the door behind us and locking it once we get into our bedroom. Nathan picks me up and throws me down onto the bed, crowding me from above.

"How long until you think they'll be asleep."

I giggle at his eagerness, "depends on how much wine it takes to knock them all out. I'm guessing half an hour tops."
