Chapter 16 : Dinner and Lunch

M: so Veer you can come down..my dish is ready..

Veer came down

V: dish or dishes..? You have prepared dessert too..

M: butter chicken rice and kheer.. Kheer because my mother used make this on my every bday..so ya.

V: it looks amazing..

M: taste it..

He started eating..

V: I can do anything for this butter chicken and these food..

Mishti smiled..

M: see..I am the best..

V: yeah I know that.

He got a video call from Vanessa..

Van: happy bday bhai.. What are you doing?

V: having dinner.. And thanks..where is mom.dad..?

Kd: we are here Veer.. Happy bday..Where is mishti..?

V: thanks

M: hi mom dad..

Van: bhai dinner means pizza party?

V: nope butter chicken and kheer..

Van: wait a sec.. How this ritual changed.. Let me guess bhabi effect..bcoz u celebrate every year with pizza in office only..at least from last 6 7 years you are in singapore..

V: because I can do anything for butter chicken.. you know that..n she is a great cook..you should taste it.

Van: yes yes understanding bhai.. Your priority of butter chicken..by the way bhabs my butter chicken n kheer is pending.. I will come to singapore for that.

M: anytime vanessa.. Just come here..

They talk a bit and cut the call..

V: so Van is your source..?

M: why do you care.. You got your butter chicken right..enjoy..

V: valid point..he smiled..

He finished dinner and they went to room..

V: you cook really well..I loved it..everything..and the kheer...my favorite..

M: I thought you were allergic to sweetness..

V: but staying with you for so long no.

M: means..

V: " Mishti" i meant..he smirked

M: bad joke.

V: I meant it.. He smiled

She smiled and changed the topic..

M: anyway tomorrow we have meeting for the new project with investor right?

V: yes if this project gets approved we might have to go to south korea for few days..

M: yeah.

V: don't worry we will rock it.. And we are the best..

M: yes.. We are the best..we will get it too..

He smiled

V: sleep now.. I made you work so.much in office and home today..

M: my pleasure.. She smiled..and goodnight sweet dreams..

Morning they got ready for the investor's meeting.

They reached the office..

R: Dr. Khanna ready for your first investor meeting..

M: yes..

Rey, Ayaan, Veer, Mishti and Dr. Sharma went for the meeting..

V: Dr. Khanna go ahead and present.

She nodded and started

They asked several questions and she answered and then Veer presented the profit and loss related to the idea they are proposing and all were impressed including Mishti.

Inv: So we are happy with all the details you have presented and impressed by both of your presentation. Great team.

V: thanks

Inv: the project is going to VR. start the initial work as you have proposed also Dr. Khanna and Dr. Oberoi we would like you to visit us in south Korea as you know we are starting our experimental lab over there, so you guys are invited and we can have a collaboration and discuss over the same..

V: thank you so much Mr. Yan, we both will surely pay a visit. 

Inv: congratulation to the team

V: Thank you.

Inv: so you all can join us in lunch now if you are free

R: yeah surely..

They all went for the lunch. 

So what all you are going to order?

R: Dr. Khanna you want fish..

A: so please taste the mutton here.

V: fried rice and chilli chicken..Veer smirked..

Mishti rolled her eyes..

V: I would like to have.. you can have it too.. it is good here.

M: hm. ok one for me too..

Veer smiled..

They all finished dinner.. 

Mr. Yan: so what  you all will have in dessert?

R and A: sweet ofcourse

M: yes I will have custard.. 

V: make that two then..

Mr. Yan: you guys have pretty similar choice..

V: yes induction effect may be.. we stay together 24 7 ..so..

Everyone looked at Veer..and Mishti was speechless.

V: what almost 24* 7 in office.. so induction effect..

They had the dessert..

V: thanks for the lunch Mr. Yan.. Me and Mishti will visit you soon..

They went back to office.

Rey was in his cabin..

R: did you call her Mishti instead of Dr. Khanna?

V: did I? may be..

R: Veer .. 

V: what Rey..

R: I would appreciate your liking you had for her unless you were married..

V: you are as usual overthinking.. just by hearing name.. instead of a surname..

R: not just by a name ok.. I know you well.. so I felt something is different when you are around her..

V: stop your small brain Rey and get back to work.. there is nothing like that. And you know I dont believe in feelings and all..and I am officially married too..so focus on your work other than me..

and he left.. making Veer thinking whether she is really affecting him and he saw her through the glass and instantly smiled..

V: I think I should also get back to work.
