Chapter 24 : New Uneasy Feelings

Veer went to the washroom and started the shower faucet, and water started flowing all over his body.. he just closed his eyes and remembered the day. and tears started falling from his eyes subconsciously..

Mishti's POV

Meanwhile, Mishti was sitting on the bed cluelessly.. she was still absorbing all the moments from yesterday evening to today. She closed her eyes. and remembered the kiss.

M: I hate you, Veer.. this was our first kiss...and like this???. This guy...I so hate him.

She mentally scolded herself immediately for thinking this...

M: what is wrong with you, Dr. Mishti Khanna.. what are you thinking?.. You should be upset about the kiss rather than boasting more about it and thinking your ideal first kiss with him.. god what is wrong with me.. Ideally, I should feel disgusted.. and he did not ask me to before kissing me.. but why did I close my eyes to his touch and give in.. why did he make me out of control with his eyes... those intense eyes are enough to get lost. 

shut up, Mishti..what's wrong with you?

I feel I will go mad because of this man. I am doing the things I could have never imagined in my whole life.. No way, Mishti, you need to control and get hold of yourself.. it was just a kiss...and you have been his wife for 9 months. that's it... he sjust said "mine" "forever" like words just for the impact.. casually.. he didnot mean any of that.. dont bring your expectations and any of those emotions .. all leads to only hurt.. you know very well.. he is a good friend.. and he cares for you..so he panicked.. so he did all those dramas in the office .. but you just can't afford to depend emotionally on anybody.. not even him.. she took a deep breath.

but why did he kiss? I need to talk about this.. how can he kiss me?

Veer's POV:

I realized today I could not afford to lose you, Mish ..you are important. very, very important in my life.. do I just like you or love you already.. I never felt this fear of losing before.. and the time when you were unconscious for that long..it was scary..  I cant handle it again.. 

he opened his eyes..

and did I kiss her? without even asking her why she did not protest and why she gave in. Closing her eyes? There were so many emotions.. new complications.. new things. I have never ever thought of having all these emotions in my life... what are you doing to me, Mishti? 

He closed the faucet and stood in front of the mirror.

V: do I love her? dont know.. but one thing I know for sure.. I like you.. and you are mine.. and that is forever...he smiled..and changed into a bathrobe and came out of the bathroom to take his clothes...

Mishti saw him coming out of the washroom in a bathrobe.. and all her theories went into vain, remembering the kiss and the way he said to everyone that she was "Mrs. Mishti veer oberoi.. his wife.. and only his.. forever."

she immediately broke the eyelock...

Veer went to the closet to take the clothes

M: why did you kiss me Veer..?

Veer looked at her with a smirk.. and got busy in taking his clothes for changing with out answering her..

M: answer me veer why did you kiss me and why did you tell everyone that I am your wife..that wasn't our deal.. right? you follow deals and rules.. right?..so what happened..? why did you break those rules we set?

Veer looked into her eyes

V: Did we break those rules for the first time? think Mishti

She did not answer

Veer walked up to her, looking straight into her eyes, making her feel more giddy and restless. 

V: did we break the rules for the first time?

he went close to her face and sat close to her.. And she closed her eyes due to the proximity,. and he smiled seeing that.. and went near to her ear

V: by the way, I told everyone, "You are my wife " because I wanted to...he said huskily... It is the punishment for keeping your mobile in silent mode. Making your husband panicked for your health and throwing attitude on your husband.. So now everyone knows I am your husband.. and yeah.. the best part is now people will stop flirting with you..

she opened her eyes and saw him smirking

M: why is it important for you..?

V: I don't know why.. he took pause,. But it is just important for me.. the end of discussion.  It is very important for me that people should know you are my wife.. You are Dr. Mishti Veer Oberoi.. his hot breath and wet hair were making her heart beat faster.. and giving her different sensations.. she clutched the bedsheet with her finger just not to show his closeness was affecting her,.. he put the airlock behind her ears and kissed her cheek.

And stood up and left with a smirk, seeing her confused and affected by their proximity and his touch..

Mishti opened her eyes and saw he already left..

M: I hate him.. what he is turning me into.. arghhh.. I hate it. I need to get control over myself.. but why is he doing this..? I need to talk to him.. he can't do this to me.. he can't talk like that.. not in this tone...

She thought to divert her mind by doing what she loves the most.. her work.. and opened her laptop, but Mishit's calculative smart mind was failing for the first time to concentrate

In next 10 min, the maid came with juice..

but she was frustrated as she was not able to concentrate 

M: please keep this on the table I will take it later

Veer entered and took the juice glass.

V: I knew she won't take it like a normally sensible woman ... you can go, I will give her.. make the lunch and dinner as I said.

Mishti looked at him.. he came to her.. closed the laptop and made her hold the juice glass.

V: the doctor told to rest and juice. If you dont follow.. I will call him or I will admit you to the hospital for saline drip..

M: are you giving me a threat?

V: yes I am.. so drink it right now..

M: you are stubborn..

V: and look who is talking.. and who else can handle you for a lifetime other than me...

Mishti looked at him.

M(mind): for a lifetime? Again he said so casually.

V: you will get enough time to check out your husband, Mrs. Oberoi.. now drink the juice and sleep..

M: I am not sleepy.. she finished the juice.. and he took the glass..

V: if you dont rest now on your own.. I have other means, too.. Don't challenge me.. you have seen one example of challenging and pushing me, right..he smirked

M(mind): Is he reminding me again of that kiss..

M: we need to talk about that too..

V: we will.. first your health is important than our talk.. so sleep for few hour atleast.. he switched off the light and went out..

M: I am hating this over caring Veer.. fuck what is wrong with him.. why he is so unpredictable.. anyway I should rest.. may be I wasnot able to concentrate because of the gas leak effect.. once I will wake up.. I will be normal me.. away from these uneasy feelings and sensations..
