Chapter 9: The Meeting

Next morning they had breakfast and left separately.

Veer had a client meeting regarding a new project and was very busy from the morning.

R: Veer will you be joining the meeting today in office?

V: no Rey. I am going to ITC for the new project and Ayaan will be connected through the video conference there. It is very important you know right

Dr. Ayaan Gupta is Chief Technology Officer of VR and Veer's friend too

R: oh yeah. how can I forgot.

V: ok I am leaving.. I will see you after the evening.

He just left the room and Misti entered

M: will the meeting be here?

R: yeah our CEO just left as he is having a client meeting so we can continue without him.

Mishti saw the direction Reyansh pointed and saw someone leaving  in hurry 

The meeting started with the agenda of  what company is currently doing, different ideas that can be incorporated to enhance the battery production and the stability.

Mishti too gave some insights what she thinks can be done and the experiments need to be carried out. 

The meeting ended with a good note and everyone appreciated her idea

R: Mishti you can initiate on the experiments you suggested...

M: Ok. she went to her desk to plan the experiments and read some articles and after that moved to the synthesis lab

After finishing her work she got a call from her old college friend Arnav whom she is only close to. He stays in Singapore with his wife and moved 5 years back.

A: are you alive?

M: working..

A: that is your oxygen. what else can I say?

M: why did you call?

A: because you did not feel like even after coming to Singapore. So I had to.

M: yesterday only I came here Arnav and joined office , so was busy.

A: same old drama..

M: yours too

A: free tonight for dinner...?

She thought for a while..and checked the watch which was showing 6 o clock.

M: sorry I have already told for dinner

A: this early?

M: umm.. ok lemme check. she called home and told maid not to cook.

M: ok I will come to meet. tell me the place and time?

A: Chinatown 7 PM?

M: cool.

She left the office at 6 PM, took a metro and went to Chinatown. Suddenly something stroke her she messaged Veer

M:Wait for me at the dinner

V: means?

M: nothing .. I am out. so wait for me at the dinner.

He thought of asking where but as they decided no personal space interference. Then thought to ask why but then just replied ok.

She reached Chiantown.. 

Arnav and his wife Sristi were already there. They had a fun session together meeting after almost 5 years

A: Lets order food..?

M: umm.. she ordered soup and few starter..

A: what about dinner?

M: sorry ..you guys have it. I just came to meet you. I have told someone for dinner. So I will just pack something and take your leave. 

S: no problem Mishti .you came at least. and he asked you to come suddenly.. so it's fine we can meet later again on weekend and spend time.

A: who?

Mishti raised her eyebrows

A: Ms. Mishti Khanna.. whom have you told for dinner? and in Singapore?

M: actually a friend.. hmm.. you don't know..

A: enlighten me please.. afteral I am the closest friend you have and I don't hide things from you.. what are you hiding Mishti..?

M: nothing Arnav.. ok fine.. Veer

A: who Veer?

S: boyfriend?

A: please Mishti, I dont trust you...suddenly you will tell me someday that you are getting married or got married and will not invite me too..

Misti gave a smile.. known to him

A: This smile I know.. who is Veer?

M: actually Arnav.. I got married.. it was so sudden I could not inform and no one was invited..

A: you must be kidding Mishti..

M: do I look like the kind kidding on this?

A: no.. that's what I am fearing that it is the truth..

M: fine I will tell you later.. the story. now I am getting late..

A: and when are you going to take us to him? I need to check his mental status who agreed to marry an workaholic like you.

M: never.. 

A: never say never.

M: Bye. She hugged both of them and left from there. Then reached home at 8.30 PM.. Veer was working in his laptop

M: had dinner?

Veer didnot answer

M: asking you

V: you only messaged me..

M: yes was just confirming.. come out..

veer gave an "impossible" look

V(mind): she is crazy .. 

They sat for dinner.

V: nice food

M: hm. I went to meet an old college friend..so got from there

V: Ok. 

They ate the food in silence. and came back to room..

V: how is your work going?

M: nice. I am happy it started at least..

V: good..

M: how was your day..?

V: working on a deal ..had a meeting ..hope to get it..

M: you will ..trust me.. 

Veer smiled..

V: you sleep.. you must be tired.. I have some work to finish.. I will switch off the lights.

M: cool..

she changed and slept..
