Y/n's POV

The week following the small earthquake was surprisingly peaceful, it was nice to take a break. I had helped Donnie build a new crib for Lavinia, we cleaned and reorganized the lab after it was demolished, and all was fine.

However, I could still see that something big was on Donnie's mind. I know it has to do with whatever conversation he needed to have with me, but I didn't really know how to approach the situation.

At least, not until today. It was the afternoon, and I was hanging out with April, Sunita, and Vinnie in the TV room.

It was their day of caring for Vinnie, and after a bit of time that I got to play with her, the girls sent me back to the lab.

I was slightly disappointed that I couldn't continue playing with my sister, but I still listened. When I stepped inside the lab though, I saw a shifting sort of light, and saw Donnie sitting at his desk, watching something on his laptop with his headphones on.

He looked really focused, but also lost in thought.

(Remember that look he had while he and Mikey were sat at the picnic table confronting tod when they first met? Yea, he looked like that. With his hands up Infront of his mouth and everything.)

I got a little curious, but I wanted to respect his privacy, so I stayed next to the doors and knocked on the wall. He seemed to have either heard the knocking or the felt the vibrations, because he jumped and slammed his laptop shut before looking over at me.

He was breathing heavily, like I had nearly scared the life outta him, but after a second, he started heavily blushing.

I chuckled at his embarrassment, but I also looked guilty. "Hey, you alright? Sorry for the scare," I stepped forward and apologized while he breathed and sat normally.

"Yep! Yea, totally cool.. hehe," he spoke awkwardly, far more than usual, so I knew something was up.

Normally I'd just leave it be, but this kind of opportunity is one that I just couldn't give up. I smiled at his lame attempt at being cool. "Whatever you say. Hey.. d'you wanna go somewhere with me? Like, a date?" I casually asked him out, earning a subconsciously uncontrollable smile from him.

He enthusiastically agreed to the date and shot up to go get ready. Luckily for us, I was already wearing a good enough outfit, so we were able to leave pretty quickly.

I briefly told April and Sunita what we were doing, and they understood, then we set off.

I brought him through the sewers until we made it to a familiar manhole. Donnie went first, and helped me through, then he asked what we were doing.

"Well softie, first we're gonna go get pizza for takeout, then we're gonna do something else." I smiled warmly at him, then I grabbed his hand and pulled him to the mystic pizza place.

There, we got a simple small pizza for the two of us, and I was able to talk to Usagi for a couple minutes. Donnie was cool with the bunny dude, but for some reason he had a playful hatred towards Leo's boyfriend. No one knows why, and it does get sort of annoying at times, but he told me he actually likes Leo having someone as dorky as Usagi, so I know it's all in good fun.
