Han Yujin, according to the logic of MBTI, is extroverted. And although the test isn't always accurate, in this case, it is-- Yujin is always the one to approach people first.
No, maybe that's overestimating himself. He was afraid to talk to Gyuvin the first time they met, and he spent weeks observing him at school because he thought he was just so cool. But aside from Gyuvin, and a few other people, Yujin was reasonably friendly. So, he had no idea why he was so shy around you.
It started Friday night last week. He's noticed you since you arrived, back to the wall and hidden by the corner. You're clicking away whatever is on your phone, and he cannot for the life of him pinpoint why you were so familiar. The ends of your lips curved downwards as you groaned, stuffing your phone back into your jacket pocket and tugging your dress down by a little. Your grandmother--who Yujin knew very well--gestures to the table he sat at and for a second, he has to pretend he hasn't been staring at you for thirty minutes.
When you sit directly across from him, his brain short-circuits. You're really pretty up close, and you were looking right back at him. Hence, the only acceptable thing to do is to say hi; he does just that and holds out his hand for a handshake.
You kind of frown, but you swiftly turn away before Yujin can properly distinguish it as so. He retrieves his cell phone out of his pocket and texts Nara: "hey, this girl in front of me, does she look familiar to you???"
Nara immediately types back, "no but is she ok? she seems nervous... she's so red."
He observes your reaction when Nara mouths, "Are you okay?" to you. You give her a forced half-smile and he thinks it's adorable how someone can be so... awkward? (Not that he wasn't awkward himself, but you were so cute.)
Unfortunately, he doesn't find the chance to talk to you for the rest of the dinner. Gyuvin does, and you reciprocate his conversation sometimes, but Yujin can't muster the courage to say another word to you. There's still something about you that's bothering him; he can't tell specifically why, but you're familiar.
It hits him like a truck on the way home after you've said all your goodbyes that you, Y/n as you introduced yourself, was his childhood friend. Only then, he used to call you by a cheesy nickname and you had been engraved in his memory as that nickname, and not Y/n. He whines to his parents about it for the remaining duration of the car ride.

"What nickname was it again?" he ponders. You're sitting face to face with him again like Friday night, except today is a Saturday and you're not at that one Auntie's house anymore, you're in his room. You were in his room.
He taps Nara on the shoulder and leans in to whisper, "Have I ever called you by a nickname before?"
She shakes her head no, and tilts her head to say back, "I don't think so. Why?"
