Shattered hearts (Severus Snape)

Severus was losing his mind when he saw the students flooding into the great hall for dinner. He felt like he did not spend enough time with Irene while she was recovering and now he had to share her with the students. It did not help him either when the students were extremely fond of her.

There was a hint of a smile on his face when she walked into the hall, but he did not allow himself to show his feelings or emotions as the students were there. He would be the talk of the school, if he ever showed his feelings in front of them.

However, his face scrunched into a scowl when he saw Remus lupin walking alongside her, along with Minerva and Albus right behind them. When he saw Remus walking next to her, looking at her with adoration in his eyes, Severus felt like he could strangle his new colleague to death.

"Hi Severus!"

Her voice calmed him down immediately, and gave her a small smile as she sat next to him like always. But his heart clenched when Remus sat next to her, and much to his dismay, she was now sitting in between them.

She could see how he was clenching his wand from underneath the table. She put her hand on his knee to calm him down a bit and surprisingly it worked. Hi wiped his head to me with surprise in his eyes as he froze staring at me with adoration, he quickly looked back down at his plate clenching his fist to not hold her hand. He wanted to hold her, his heart wanted to hold hers, she let go of his knee and put her hand on the table.

She could feel the how tense he was still and she frowned when she realized Remus' faced dropped when his eyes landed on Severus. She put the prices together and concluded that they had their own issues which she did not want to know.

"Do you two know each other?"

She smiled, ignoring how awkward it was when Remus and Severus glared at eachother, and if looks could kill, one of them would be dead by now. They nodded and before she could say anything else, Dumbledore was ready to start his speech.

She was busy looking at Severus, who was clenching his jaw and curling hi hands into fists. She wondered if he was so tense becouse of Remus' presence that evening.

"I'm pleased to welcome professor R.j Lupin who will fill the position of Defense against the dark arts. Good luck professor."

She moved her gaze from Severus towards Remus, who was introduced to the students by the head master. As he stood up from his chair, she just realized how charismatic he was and she was sure the students would love him.

She did not realize that Severus had his eyes fixated on her, and it ircked his so much to see her watching him with awe. She was clearly fascinated by the new teacher, and jealousy crawled over Severus's chest gripping onto his heart.

As dinner started, Severus thought that it would was a good chance for him to divert her attention from Remus, but before he could talk to her, Remus beat him to it. He was tempted to roll his eyes when the new teacher lured her into a conversation as if he was not there.

Severus thought that he had to share her attention and affection with the students, but now it seemed like he had to share them with Remus too and he was not liking that at all.

He glared at Remus when the wizard said something that made her laugh. Usually the twinkle in her eyes would send butterflies flirting into his stomach, but suddenly it was making him feel sick because lupin was the one who was causing her to be so overjoyed and not Severus.

But he felt like air was forced out of his lungs when he heard Remus offer to walk her back to her room. Severus scoffed at his question as she nodded.

They walked her to her bedroom after dinner, they stopped Infront of her door as she looked up at Severus. She took a step forward and kissed his cheek, she did that every night for the past month sence it helped him sleep.

"Good night, Remus and Severus.."

She said walking into her room, Severus glanced at Remus as he looked down. He could see from his eyes Remus was questioning things, but he did not ask her anything about it.

Remus turned on his heels, walking away to his room. Severus could still feel her kiss lingering on his cheek, and it brought a sad smile upon his face to think that her action was merely becouse she was his friend, and nothing more than that.

Sighing, he put his hand on his cheek, wishing she could stay longer with him but now she was not there with him anymore. Dropping hi hand to his side, he shook his head, scoffing at himself for being to enchanted by with her that he was starting to miss her everytime she was away.

Severus was aware that she was friendly with everyone unless they gave her a bad vibe, however it felt different with Remus. Perhaps he was overreacting, but his poor heart just could not handle it when it felt like Remus was stealing her from him, just as he was about to have her back in his life.

Severus tossed and turned that night at the thought that Remus was trying to steal her away from him. He couldn't help but to wonder if she liked him, not that it was his business who she decided to be with but Severus began to love her and he did not want to be positive over her. They've only know each other for a month now but the twinkle in her eyes when she sees him, the way he looks at her with adoration and awe. He once overheard some students talking about how cute they would be together, the thought burned in his chest with jealousy and anger.

Severus could not sleep that night, he stood up from his dark green bed and put on a shirt, leaving his room to go for a walk to clear his mind. He walked down the poorly lit corridor nearing Irenes bedroom. He stopped at her door as he thought that talking to her would soothe his mind and allow him to sleep.

He stood Infront of the door unsure if she would be awake at this hour. He heard her yell out and cry, he knocked quickly heading glass shatter as worry flooded through him.

"Irene, Irene are you alright?"

He asked almost stuttering on his words, the color drained from his when he heard more glass shatter and her cry

"Please go away Severus..."

She muttered out to him, low enough for him to hear her as she cooked on her words through her sobs. He pondered if he should open the door to make sure if she was okay or respect her wishes and leave.

"Alohomora.."

He mumbled holding his wand, the door clicked and creaked open as he stepped inside stepping on broken glass, he looked at the paper and black feathers scattered along the hard dark wood floor. Shattered glass and knocked over furniture. Severus cleanched his jaw when he heard the bathroom door close, the memories of when he was last here begun to flood into his mind, he walked through the living room towards the bathroom door. He raised his hand up to the door about to knocked but paused to hear her cry from the other side of the door.

"Irene, Irene are you okay? Please let me in.."

He said, his voice was low, laced with worry. He gripped the door handle as he heard a thud as she continued to cry.
