After Severus left Irene's room she found that Remus accidentally fell asleep on her bed. She didn't want to wake him up so she slept on the couch, feeling safe that someone was there with her.

It was Christmas that morning, Minerva and Albus arranged a yule ball for the teachers that night. Remus woke up early in the morning to the smell of her warm vanilla perfume, he leaned up from the bed wincing as he looked around the room, he walked over to her sleeping on the couch. He carefully picked her up not wanting to wake her and laid her down on the bed where he was asleep before.

The sun was just starting to rise he sat beside her on the bed.

"She is so beautiful, even when she sleeps.."

He mumbled quietly, brushing his hands along her long ruby hair.

"Such a shame she belongs to another, she belongs to Severus...but I won't give up on having her..."

He said to himself, the room was cold, the snow was falling outside the window. Remus wanted to take her to a secret garden he found a few weeks ago during the ball to try and tell her how much he meant to her.

He turned his head to the door as he heard someone knock, he quietly picked up his coat and flung it over his shoulders. He walked to the door and opened it to see Severus glaring at him, the tension was so thick someone could cut it with a knife.

"Severus..."

"What are you still doing in her room, lupin...?"

Severus said clenching his jaw, after all Irene was Severus's soulmate, not lupins.

"I should be asking on why you made her cry..."

Severus felt his heart ache to know he made her cry again, he did not intend to make her cry, not in a million years.

"You should stay away from her lupin..."

"And why should I do that?"

They both raised their wands to eachother, whispering as they glared daggers into each other.

"Becouse I know more about her than you ever will..."

"She's no different than a normal human being..."

"Is that what you think? You've seen her eyes, her elvish like ears and the unnatural color of her ruby hair..."

Severus spat in a whisper, Remus lowed his head pondering at what her said. She was not a human after all.

"That won't keep me away from her, dragon, mermaid or even werewolf, I will still love her.."

Remus said, rage began to bubble in Severus's chest at lupins words.

They stopped immediately once Minerva walked around the corner and stopped in her tracks when she saw Remus shirtless in Irenes room, confusion rushed across her face.

Severus quickly turned around and left as Remus shut the door quietly, Minerva stood there puzzled trying to put together at what she just saw but wouldn't ask Irene about it later.

Severus and Remus glared at eachother for the remainder of the day, during breakfast, in the corridor as they passed eachother, lunch and even dinner.

Irene and Minerva stood in her room as she held up dozens of dresses asking her for her opinion on which to wear.

"How about this one?"

He held up a white gown with lace sleeves that reached the ground, Minerva shook her head putting her index finger to her mouth pondering.

"It would look like your getting married, and I don't think your ready for that yet.."

They chuckled as she put the dress back into her closet. She pulled out another dress as Minerva nodded quickly as she held it up to herself.

"That one is perfect, I'm sure Severus would love that one"

Minerva chuckled teasing her, heat rushed to Irenes face as she looked down at the ground away from Minervas gaze.

Later that night Minerva and Irene stood in the great hall where the ball was being held. They stood at the corner of the room talking to each other holding a glass of red wine.

Severus Leaned against the stone wall, scanning the room for Irene. His face burned a bright red when he saw her. The dress was black, backless, strapless and form fitted, it came up just shoved her knees, her ruby hair was tied back into a low bun accented with black roses and dark green jewls.

He stared at her with adoption of how beautiful she looked, he built up the carriage to walk up to her and ask her to dance as he put his hands behind his back appearing behind her, Minerva smirked and turned to walk away before Irene could stop her, she turned around and looked up at Severus' dark eyes.

"Hello Severus"

She said in a sweet tone as a smile formed across her face, Severus could not bring himself to say anything to her from how enchanting she looked.

"Hello Irene, you look beautiful.."

He said with a flustered face almost stuttering on his words.

"Thank you Severus"

He held out his hand to her, asking her to dance with him. Her heart raced as she took his hand as he lead her to the center of the room where everyone else was dancing.

His heart raced as they spun, matching their footsteps to the fast rhythm of the music, he stared into her enchanting eyes as he felt the scars on her back that were exposed.

"You wings...where are they...?"

He asked dragging his hand across her back, her cheeks became brighter red as his hand drug across her bare back landing back on her hip.

"I used a temporary spell to hide them"

She said, he looked into her enchanting eyes as they dance more.

They stopped to take a break as Minerva pulled Severus away to talk to him leaving her at the wine bowl. Remus lupin walked up to her, giving her a dark red rose.

"This is for you, you looked gorgeous tonight, Irene"

She took the rose, looking up at his with a sweet smile.

"Thank you Remus, but your not supposed to be out of bed.."

"I'm fine. there's a place I want to show you."

He said with an excited smile, they walked out the hall as Severus continued to talk with Minerva unaware of Irenes disappearance.

"I can assure you, no one knows of this this place in Hogwarts, Irene."

"Are you kidnapping me?"

She asked, Remus laughed as they stopped in front of the doorway of the secret place.

"I'll keep you safe. Don't worry."

A chuckle erupted from her chest at his words, unable to contain her excitement and curiosity. If there was a hidden place within the school grounds, she was beyond excited to know where it was.

"Telling by the hundreds of hagging plants and flowers in your room, you love plants very much."

She nodded, staring at the spider webs on the large wooden door.

Remus spoke softly, taking her hand in his. She was astatic to see what was in the other side of the door that she did not realize how Remus was gazing at her intertwined fingers with his, a plethora of unspoken feelings were exploding in his chest.

He moved the dust and spider webs from the door handle as he turned the knob cracking open the door.
