Irenes been unconscious for a year, Severus used hundreds of potions to try to wake her but nothing worked. She was stuck in her own mind, teachers and students would bring her flowers, even Remus and Severus. Remus never forgave himself for what he did to her, Severus' heart shattered into millions of prices not being able to speak with her, hold her and love her. students had to deal with Severus with his more frequent attitude.
Minerva was changing out Irenes dead flowers, replacing them with new fresh ones as Irene sat up gasping. Minerva stepped back startled staring at her with wide eyes.
"Irene?"
Minerva said in a shocked tone, she looked as if she's seen a ghost. Irene looked at Minerva with tears in her eyes and her hands trembling.
"Is Severus and Remus okay?"
She asked, Minerva sat next to her on the bed looking into he lavender teary eyes.
"Yes, that are both okay..."
Minerva said, taking her hands in hers.
"What period class is this?"
"It's planning period for potions professor, why...?"
Before Minerva could say anything more, she already used a spell getting herself ready and running out the door, Minerva shook her head listening to the distant sound of her heels running down the corridor.
Severus was grading his first year papers, the sound of bubbles bubbling in a cauldron. Irene walked into his classroom and stood Infront of him.
"What do you want...?"
His tone was snappy, his eyes never left the papers and his quil.
"Am I not allowed to see my soulmate, Severus..?"
She said with a small chuckle, he stoped in his place when he heard her voice. He picked up his head to see her standing in front of him, he dropped his quil and quickly ran around the desk and pulled her into a tight hug. His heart beat frantically in his chest as she was there, she was with him after so long. Tears welded in his eyes as he ran his fingers through her long ruby hair.
"You were gone for so long..."
He said, almost choking on his words trying not to break into sobs.
"What do you mean?"
She asked, picking her head up from his chest looking into his dark enchanting eyes.
"You didn't wake up for a whole year, I thought I lost you forever..."
He said looking down at her, a tear ran down his cheek seeing her soft face, he missed her so much.
"I would never leave you, I promise Severus..."
She said as she reached up cupping hi cheek in her palm, his heart raced at her touch.
"You too tall, you know that"
She said as they both chuckled, he knelt down closer her, taking in her warm vanilla scent.
"Is this better...?"
He asked, his heart beat rapidly against his ribcage as he looked into her enchanting eyes and her soft face.
"Yes, thank you"
She said with a warm smile, she kissed him, catching him by surprise.
She let go and rushed out the room as she heard the student nearing his class. He stood up straight staring at the door as she left his room, his face burned bright red as he looked down at the floor so the students wouldn't become suspicious as they walked into the classroom.
She walked down to Remus' office to greet him, she forgave him for he did, for she knew he wouldn't hurt her intentionally. She walked into his office realizing he wasn't there, she picked up a book from his desk and opened it. Remus' free period was right after Severus Which would be the perfect time for her to surprise him that she was awake. She heard his footsteps coming up the stairs and behind her.
"May I help you with something?"
He asked with a forced smile, standing behind her with his hands in his pockets.
"Can I not see my best friend during his free period?"
She said, chuckling as she set the book on the desk and turned around to face him. She looked up at him with a warm smile as his jaw dropped.
He pulled her into a hug as she hugged him back, she felt the trembling in his hands as he rubbed her back.
"I'm so sorry, I'm so so sorry, Irene..."
He said, hugging her tightly, he was happy to see her awake. He tired not to break into sobs as he hugged her more.
"It's okay Remus, I'm okay. I'm here.."
She said in a soft voice calming him down, he let go of her and looked into her soft lavender eyes.
"It's not okay, Irene. I hurt you badly..."
"I've been through worse..."
She shrugged her shoulders, looking up at him. It came back into his mind of what her saw on her.
"If you don't mind me asking, but that night, of what I saw, what are you...?"
His eyes narrowed as he rested both his hands on her shoulders, she looked down wanting to avoid yelling him. She was afraid that is she told him what she was, he would be afraid of her, like everyone else she told.
"It's okay, you can tell me anything, Irene"
"If I've been asleep for an entire year, then doesn't that mean the end of the year is coming soon?"
She asked trying to avoid his question.
"Yes, tomorrow is when all the students go back home. But please don't avoid my question..."
He said, almost in a stern voice. She knew he wanted to know but she was afraid to tell him.
They turned their heads, stepping away from eachother as someone walked through the door, she immediately realized it was Severus.
"Irene, Albus need us"
He said, his eyes narrowed when he saw Remus, he clenched his jaw and his fists. She waved at him with a warm smile as they walked out the room, a wave of jealousy washed over Severus as he saw her smile and wave to lupin.
"Dumbledore needs us urgently"
He said walking to Albus' office, she tried to match his pace. She looked around the corridor not seeing anyone as she grabbed his wrist stoping him.
"Severus wait"
She said, he turned to her as she took a step closer to him.
"What is it?"
He asked with a small smile formed on his lips, she pulled him into a hug, hugging him tightly. His heart raced at the touch of her again. She let go of him as they walked to Dumbledores office.
