INKOPOLIS CITY - PRESENT TIME

Mario sat on a high up roof, looking at himself in a mixture of distain and horror. Yes, he had lied to his friends for years. Yes, he had been responsible for several incidents and sometimes they led to the deaths of those he cared for. But to attack a friend directly? It was just beginning to set in just how mentally unstable he was.

"Will you cut that out! You've been staring at your hands for like an hour now! It's weird!"

"Don't give me that, you saw what I did."

"Yeah, you had a fit! Big deal! You wanna cry me a river Blue?"

"It's Red, and don't call me that."

"Why do you think I called you Blue? Let me tell you, coming up with new ways to misspeak your name is hard."

"Uhuh..."

"Oh shut it, I'm really doubting why I even stay here when I can do so many other things."

"Then why not go?"

"..."

A good question really, why didn't she go? Her goal of making him feel better, of helping him recover, it seemed so difficult now.

"... Look, I know we're in a pretty weird situation now, but you've gone through to ends of the world, you'll be fine. And as much as I hate to say it, I'll be with you, every step of the way."

"..."

It was Mario's turn to sit in silence, partially glad that she had said that, he could really use a friend right now. They sat in comfortable silence, no more words needing to be said. Their little dynamic was far from perfect, but it would have no meaning if it was.

"... Thank you, even if you are just a figment of my imagination."

"Yeah... I sure am..."
