I was truly in love with Ominis at dinner. Nothing mattered but us. Sebastian and I may have shared a frantic kiss and nothing more. It was in the past.

We decided after class to go practice some spells in The Undercroft and of course Sebastian wanted a few drinks. After getting back to the common room, I showered and changed into more comfortable clothes. In the name of Merlin, those shoes they make us wear really does a number on your feet.

I caught up with the two boys in the common room and we snuck off to the Undercroft.

It was on the other side of the castle hidden behind a bookshelf. The entrance was an old clock and when you cast the right spell it would open. The room was never anything special, more of a storage space. In the few years of coming here we had set up a nice spot for us to sit, play chess and had a few practice dummies. Before our O.W.L.S we spent hours going over everything in the room before us.

It was our secret little escape from the life of being a Hogwarts student. A place to call our own.

Stepping onto the cobblestone floor, the room had a dark energy to it. Probably from the Gaunts a few days back. I wondered what happened here to Sebastian in the hours I was on my date with Ominis.

He came back, but he wasn't the same.

I looked at the ground and saw scratches had been cut deep into the stone that weren't there before.

"You finally gave her the necklace!" Sebastian smiled, taking a seat on the couch laying back.

"Yeah." Ominis said, taking a seat on the mismatched chair.

"It looks good on you. He carried that thing around in his pocket for—"

"Sebastian I prefer you don't tell Y/N everything." He glared.

"Fine." He rolled his eyes and pulled out a bottle of Fire Whiskey. It had the picture of a Phoenix with flames around it. He popped the cork and took a big sip. He blew a flame out of his mouth and chuckled. "Fuck that's good." He offered the bottle to Ominis, tapping on it so he could see his offer.

I stood not paying too much attention to them drinking as I wanted to spend time perfecting a few spells.

I struck the dummy with a powerful blast of Incendio.

"Merlin's Beard. That was amazing!" Sebastian complimented me as he watched the dummy burn.

I quickly cast Aguamenti to put out the flames that had covered it.

"You have really gotten powerful since last year." He said; admiring my skills. He was right. I have. I may not be the smartest witch but lately I feel a strong essence of magic built into me. I remember Defense Against the Dark Arts class and how my cast of Bombarda nearly sent all the students to the infirmary.

"Sebastian, if you studied hard I'm sure you would be just as good as Y/N." Ominis took a sip from the bottle.

"No Ominis. She is powerful. I don't know how to explain it since you can't see it..."

"I don't really do anything different." I scratched my arm, wondering if he was right.

I remembered the words I overheard one of the Ministry Officials say as I sat outside the office. After my parents had died. 'She needs to be watched. Her magic is strong, strong enough to cast without a wand or incantation.' I stared at my hands and thought about the practice dummy shattering.

Suddenly a loud bang echoed the walls as it exploded to pieces.

Sebastian spit out his drink, coughing on the strong liquid. I hadn't moved. I didn't wave my wand. "Fuck! Did you see that? She..." his mouth opened staring at the spot the dummy once stood.
