Our relationship was estranged after that day. I spent the rest of the week with Natty and Gareth even just to avoid Ominis and Sebastian. I couldn't face either of them after the words that were said. It broke my heart.
We finally got together and it soon fell apart. In one day I cheated on Ominis, had my first intimate moment and then lost him. It was too much for me to bear. They both tried to talk to me, but every time they came even close to me. I would run away.
I still wore the necklace Ominis gave me, never taking it off. I still longed for him, but my heart ached at the thought he would leave me. Every night I cried and once I finally fell asleep I had bad dreams about my parents and about the two.
"Are you getting enough sleep?" Gareth asked as he wrote in his diary. I hadn't told them the full extent of what had happened; just pieces I felt comfortable enough to share.
"No, not really." I stared at my book which was still blank.
"I know a tea that my mother used to give me when I was a child that can help with your nightmares." Natty smiled.
"Oh?" I enquired.
"Yes, I will give you the recipe." Her voice was so kind. I nodded and tried to focus on my essay.
"I could give you the recipe too for one of my drinks." Gareth chimed in.
"No thank you." I smiled.
"Oh come on!" He begged. "You don't even know what it is yet."
"Exactly." I laughed. We were sitting outside the castle grounds on the hill that overlooked the lake. Autumn has started to get colder and colder each day.
"I don't know how you girls can call yourself my friends if you won't even try one of my drinks." He grumbled.
"Gareth, the day you open your own shop we will be there, until then we will not be your guinea pigs." Natty explained.
"Fine. You both better be there!" We sat working on our various projects just enjoying the fresh air. Although it still stung — my heart started to feel better and better each day. We spent the rest of the afternoon working and helping each other to study. The sun started to set and the temperature dropped.
"We should get going." Natty said, ripping a page from her book which had the recipe for the tea she suggested. "Here you go, be sure to brew it for five minutes exactly as I heard if you stop it sooner it will end up keeping you awake all night."
"Thank you Natty. I will follow it exactly." I said my goodbyes and headed down to the Slytherin common room to skip dinner. It was surprisingly empty, like how it was on Summer break. I grabbed my stuff to go take a shower and just take some time to relax and then get a good night's sleep.
I took a hot shower and sang along to a song I made up in my head. I hopped out and changed into my nightgown and fixed my hair into a high ponytail. I wiped the condensation that built up on the mirror and glanced at the necklace. I missed Ominis. I brushed my teeth and tried to avoid looking at the silver chain glissing in the light.
"What song were you singing?" I heard Sebastian say as he stood in the doorway, leaning against its wooden frame.
"What are you doing in the girls dormitory?" I glared, crossing my arms.
"Oh nothing really. I was just walking by and heard your voice." He looked me up and down.
"Well leave." I pointed at the door.
"Y/N, are you going to keep avoiding us?"
"If I must, yes." I held my ground.
"I'm shocked you were able to stay away from me and Ominis for so long." He walked over towards me, his shoes tapping against the green tiles.
