Colby's POV

"I know baby were almost there." I said as Marissa squeezed my hand. A few Minutes later we were pulling up to the Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital emergency room doors. Sam ran in as I helped Marissa get out. A minute Later Sam and a nurse came running out with a wheelchair.

"What's going on." the nurse said as I helped Marissa sit in the wheelchair. "My Fiancé is only 20 and a half weeks pregnant and is having contractions." I said as we quickly got Marissa inside. "Okay my name is Alice and this is Amelia." The nurse said as another nurse joined us. They brought us to a room in the ER.

"Okay Hon here is a gown for you to change into just and take everything off we will be right back." Amelia said as her and Alice left the room. Sam turned around facing the wall and I helped Marissa get undressed and into the gown. "I hate this my entire ass is showing." Marissa said as I tied the ties in the back. "I know M." I said. I helped her into the bed and covered her legs with a blanket then raised the back of the bed so she could sit. "Ok Sam your good." I said.

Sam turned back around and sat on the chair by her head on her right. I sat in the other and held her left hand. A minute later Alice came back in with someone. "Hi I'm Dr Gaines I'm the OB on call tonight." The woman said. and put gloves on.

"And you 2 are." She asked Sam and I. "I'm Colby her Fiancé." I said. "And I'm Sam there friend." Sam said. "What about you sweetie." Dr Gaines asked. "I'm Marissa." Marissa said. I could tell she was scared just from her voice.

"So your 20 and a half weeks and having some contraction's." Dr Gaines said as she sat on the stool. "Yes and..." Marissa started but stopped as another contraction started. "Ok Alice can you hook her up to contraction monitor and fetal monitor please and get her started on some Tocolytics." Dr Gaines said. Alice nodded. "What's Tocolytics." I asked. "There a set of medications to stop Contractions." Dr Gaines said

Marissa was taking deep breaths. I stood up pushed the hair out of her face and rubbed her head. "Oh love." I said as the contraction stopped and her lip quivered. Alice came over with the monitors. "Can you pull your gown up sweat heart and I will put these on you." Alice said.

Marissa nodded and pulled her gown up to right under her breasts keeping the blanket on her legs and waist. Alice wrapped a elastic band with a monitor on it around Marissa's stomach and fastened it then did it again with the other monitor.

Alice moved them around till they were in the rights spot. "Ok sweetie you can put your gown back down." Alice said. Marissa put her gown back down and I helped her get comfortable. Alice put a pulse ox meter on Marissa's left pointer finger and a blood pressure cuff on her right arm

"Ok I'm gonna check your cervix if that's okay." Dr Gaines said. Marissa nodded. Alice lowered the back of the bed so Marissa could lay down. Sam stood up and started to walk out. "No Sam." Marissa said and held her hand out to him. Sam walked over and grabbed her right hand.

I frowned. I knew Marissa was scared because she feels more comfortable when people that she know are with her and the more there are the more safe she feels. I grabbed Marissa's left hand and squeezed it.

Dr Gaines pushed the blanket up a bit and had Marissa bend her legs. I watched as Marissa scrunched her face from the uncomfortable feeling. Dr Gaines finished and Marissa relaxed and fixed the blanket. Alice raised the bed back up so Marissa was sitting again.

"Ok so you are dilated to a one I'm hoping when we can stop your contractions with the Tocolytics that it will close on its own if not I will perform a cervical cerclage. Which is Stitching your cervix closed then removing the stitches when you are 36 weeks." Dr Gaines Said. Marissa just nodded. "Okay I'm gonna admit you I want to have you for on observation for a day or two so I'm gonna go ahead and get started on that and I will be back to check on you later." Dr Gaines said.
