11, A New War

("New war" arc begins!)

(NextGens pov)

My heart was pounding as all hell broke lose... I was so scared but at the same time I had to put on a brave face; there was a villain killing innocent people, just for fun!

I rushed down a hallway of fire for a few minutes... and then I came at a dead end.

"W-where am I?" I murmured quietly. I turned around and saw a deformed thing. It stood so tall; it was above my height. It had bloody hands, there were bones coming out from its spine and fingers. It's head was half skinned and it had little spores all over itself.

I was scared to death. Shaking, broken. My heart felt like it had died in that moment, I couldn't move or speak. It's presence made my fear grow, and as if I wasn't already in enough fear... it moved towards me.

It came so close to me, I felt like I was going to die... this was it...

This seriously isn't how I go out... is it?

In a split second someone appeared before me, it wasn't clear who because they were so fast...

Before I could say anything the creature that stood before me. Died. In an instant.

They turned around and I saw a woman, who was about a few inches taller than me...

(He's 5,8 she's 5,11 lolol NextGen is a noob)

"W-wha--, who are you?!" I exclaimed out of fear.

When I looked at her she had light brown eyes, a bright face that had a slight smile and her hair was light brown; it was a little bit long as well. She tilted her head slightly looking at me.

"Seriously? You can't take on one opponent?" She said, slightly smirking.

"S-shut the hell up! Don't mock me.." I replied in anger, pouting. Then I heard laugh from her...

At this point I litterly wanted to punch her in the face but she still did look pretty attractive, that was the only thing holding me back.

"Y-you're lucky I don't want to ruin your face if you were someone else, I would've punched your damn face in" I added..

"Well~ you really can't do that anyway, I'm a 'Legend' rank samurai which means I'm wayyy above your rank even though I'm one year older than you" She replied, smiling.

I'm not gonna lie, I was jealous but also I was just amazed at how someone my age could rank up so fast, it seemed impossible to me but she just made it look so easy with her words...

I just looked at her, with my eyes widened...

After a few seconds of silence she finally said with a smile. "Oh yeah! I'm Ari, what's your name?"

"I-Im NextGen..." I reply, slowly this time.

"That's a username; tell me your actual name!" She exclaimed, in an angry tone this time. Her sudden change in tone scared me so much I took a few steps back; she laughed at me again though.

"Did I scare you? I'm sorry about that, I do get a little impatient sometimes." She laughed.

"M-my real names Hem.." I mumbled back to her, still intimidated by her; she could've killed me here.

"So you're that one person who's wanted in like half this world... whys that?" She asked me, now smirking again.

"I-Its my element, since I have the rage style element people want to kill me, drain my power and sell it" My breathing was getting heavier and I was beggining to sweat, she's not thinking about that... is she?

Her face seemed to have turned a little bit shocked. She was covering her mouth with one hand and her eyes seemed widened.

"Is that why you've never used your element?" She asked with a shaking voice. I could see tears forming in her eyes, although I didn't know if that was the reflection of the fire or her actual tears...

"Y-yeah, I've never used it since birth" I mumbled quietly again.

"That's also the reason I use my username as my nickname... I've been through a lot and I'm still going through shit..." I said calmly, putting on a fake smile. Fake smiles. They never work. Never.

Then she walked up to me and put her arms around me... she was hugging me?! After all these years, I've been bullied, hunted, and thrown away from society. This organisation only took me in because I was good at fighting, but the real reason I joined was because I had no place to stay and they had dorms in their bases. She's the first person to actually feel for me-- apart from my parents.

She then pulled away from the hug and gripped her sword. She then went to her fight stance and said to me "Follow me, we're getting outta here" she quickly grabbed my wrist and dashed into the fire; even though we were litterly walking into the scorching blazes of an immense fire; I felt nothing... none of the flames went onto me. I was literally baffled, what the hell.

Wait, is her power...

The fire element?

That's great because rage is a sub element of fire!

Rage style is a form of fire style that's activated through the emotion of anger and it can be destructive to a planetary level if awakened, it's main color is red but it can also have an orange colour or a dark blue colour. (Colours don't have an impact on the element, they just skins for it lol) this element is also farmed a lot by people so that they can sell it and its used for drugs, (illegal ones) weapons, enhancers, cybernetic upgrades, cybernetic limbs and body parts and others. The element is also being tested by the military and in one of the experiments six people died so NextGen is in a hellhole...

Quickly, we got out of the blazing fire and into the main city which was full of chaos, I saw dead bodies, corpses, blood, bones, broken vehicles, broken buildings.

It.

Was.

Chaos.

I was literally shaking. I couldn't even speak, I just let Ari lead me, at this moment I trusted her with my life; there wasn't a thing I could do, I felt like a useless waste of space...

"It looks like you fell right into place.." Another voice announced itself from behind me. We both turned around in a snap and saw a hooded man wearing a kitsune mask. The worst part was half his body was coated in lava, dripping down onto the ground burning it wherever he walked.

"You two, your both similar..." He murmured again. The very presence of him made my blood boil; my veins were close to bursting from anger.

"Could you shut up?!" I shouted loudly back at him. He turned to me, his expression wasn't clear because of his mask but he seemed to be intimidating to me.

"Shut. Your. Mouth, boy.." He replied with a tone that scared me. All of a sudden Ari quickly grabbed my wrist and rushed out the other direction as fast as she could. I couldn't even keep up...

"C-could you...slow down?!" I exclaimed, catching my breath in between words...

"No, not now. We're in danger and I'm not letting you die now.." She replied, rather sternly as well.

"If that man is after us... then it means that a whole new war could emerge, just over a single element.." Kan Sensei had seemed to catch up onto us...

War?!

I'm only 16 I didn't sign up for this shit!

And I always feel alone... no one else knows what I go through...
