We stood, in complete shock at the scene in front of us. There was a horde of what seemed to be these deformed, lifeless, things. They lacked a heart and that was obvious, just by looking at those creatures you could tell. That they were once human...

We just stood and watched from a distance at how they ripped apart the innocent. From limb to limb. Corpse to corpse. All you could see was blood and the screeching of these things. I gripped my katana firmly and then ran into the massacre, adding even more corpses as I ran. Corpses of the infested. I slashed and slashed at the insanity that I ran into... my blood flowing faster than sound itself as I did.

"Maki!! Use your magic now!" I shouted loudly, whilst still waving my katana at the horde. A dark mist came off my body as I continued to slice the horde into corpses. I  could see many thin beams of fast light in the air that crashed into the ground causing the ground to tremble and break.

"Great, Maki!" I shouted loudly, as I finished the massacre and gripped my katana even firmer.

Out of the dark mist ahead, a woman with dark, ripped robes walked out. All the clothes she wore were black and her eyes didn't have anything but a dark void. "You killed my puppies, now I'll make you my puppies..." She muttered angrily to us. All of a sudden the ground beneath us began to tremble and a crack formed underneath us. I quickly grabbed Maki and pulled her into a quick hug and teleported us just an inch away from the massive spike that had replaced that crack in the ground. I could feel her shaking in my arms, but her face told a different story. She looked rather serious but... that might be to cover up her extreme fear from the scene.

"Maki, if you're scared then you don't have to continue, you can go back." I said calmly to her, whilst still keeping a firm grip on my katana.

"N-no, I'll fight..." She mumbled under her breath. When I heard her say that I could feel her shaking even more.

"Die already, fool" The woman before us shouted angrily as she punched the ground causing it to tremble and crack. I had to move somewhere, quickly so I ran behind the woman and as I did I quickly kicked her in the back of the head, sending her to the ground.

"Maki, I can feel you shaking, you don't have to hide it..." I mumbled calmly, trying my best to give her an opportunity to calm down. Slowly but surely, I was getting worried for her.
"I'm f-fine..." She replied quietly. I then listened to her and I let her go. "You shouldn't hide your fear, you know?" I told her, calmly. "I'm n-not scared of the fight, I'm scared o-of my b-body, I feel l-like I might faint..." She finally replied, now her voice shaking and almost breaking up. I now had two things on my hands; find Crow and try to help Maki.

The mission is high priority but... what would sensei say if I just let her go out like this... I would be kicked out.

Without a second thought I rushed over to Maki and firmly grasped her wrist. I rushed into the darkness of the night, outside of the battlefield and then before I knew it she fell.

I'm a bad person, I should've noticed it before. I should've noticed it before this point. I will never rank up at this point.

I held her close to me, I could feel her heartbeat and for a moment. I felt relieved. Then all of a sudden I felt her heartbeat... almost dieing out.

"Shit, what have I done" I muttered angrily to myself; nearly on the verge of tears. I had to contain my emotions and battle them whilst I frantically looked for something to help her.

"I'm gonna be kicked out now, this is it.." I muttered to myself.

"No, you will not. Bring Maki to me, I'll bring her back to the base." I heard the voice of Sensei behind me.

"I just d-don't want a-anything bad to happen..." I mumbled quietly, with a shaky voice to him, whilst I moved Maki to Kan Sensei.

I wiped my tears, still trying to contain myself. I only knew one thing though... I needed to train her even more, until she gets better than me. I ran back into the battlefield, now my aura even stronger than before. I returned back to the place I was and saw that same woman I had kicked. She now had blood all over her mouth and looked at me with the most sinister face ever.

"Die!!" She yelled loudly, as another horde of those creatures emerged from the ground up, like zombies would. Expect these aren't zombies. They're deformed humans that are being used like puppets against their will. It reminded me of my past a lot because I used to be treated in the same way before I became a samurai. I rushed towards her and sliced the things as I ran. I watched them drop like broken vases and soon. I had reached her and I swayed my katana and moved it against her neck. Her head came off and fell to the ground as blood splattered everywhere in the area. I heard screeching behind me and the sound of burning could be heard as those things died off with her.

"That's it" I mumbled under my breath as I sheathed my katana and walked further into the battlefield.
