A lot of things happened yesterday - Jumping from an apartment building forty feet above the ground, getting sprayed with water by a foul-mouthed old man I had never met, chasing a boy riding a bicycle while naked, being told a creep several times, being brought in a military headquarters, got handcuffed while being half-naked, head locked by Mr. Aaron, getting suspected as a spy from Kon, getting carried in the shoulder by a man standing two meters, and now working for the military as a soldier by the name of 'Rem' - Which General Roger, also known as 'Uncle', named me.
What a first day to experience...
"If you'll excuse us, sir, I'll be borrowing... Reb here for a bit," Sergeant Charlotte said and started walking. "Let me show you the tent where you will be sleeping."
Who's Reb...? She even paused a bit and looked at me to think about it...
"It's Rem," I clarified.
"...Is it?" Sergeant Charlotte replied, finally looking at me with her usual sharp look. "Whatever, same thing anyways..."
"..."
Same... thing?
What's the point of General Roger thinking of a name for me...
"Wait a minute," General Roger interrupted. "I have something to tell you, my beloved Rem."
Is the last part really necessary...?
"I'll give you five minutes," Sergeant Charlotte said.
...Again, why does a sergeant rank talk like that with the general?
"F-Five... M-Minutes...?" General Roger stuttered, looking confused. "What's that supposed to mean, Sergeant-"
"One minute left," Sergeant Charlotte cut him off. "Time's ticking..."
...One minute left? Isn't those five minutes she gave a bit... fast?
"I get it! I get it!" General Roger exclaimed. "Jeez... Why am I treated like this..." he muttered.
Putting Sergeant Charlotte's attitude aside, I think it's General Roger's fault for not maintaining proper superordinate and subordinate relationships...
"...All right, listen carefully... Only the three of us - Aaron, you, and I know about the fact you're a machine. Well even if you said your one, no one's going to believe you anyway," General Roger whispered right close to me. "I'm just telling you to act like a normal human being..."
A normal human being, huh... Even though he said all that, I don't -
"I don't even know what being a 'normal human being' is," I whispered back. "But... I'll try my best."
"..." General Roger paused a second and gave a faint smile.
"Your one minute is up," Sergeant Charlotte butted in. "Move your ass." She then started walking without waiting for me.
"Y-Yes, S-Sergeant..." General Roger muttered.
Isn't that supposed to be the other way around...?
"...Understood," I replied.
Unlike Sergeant Charlotte, I gave General Roger a salute before leaving which he responded with another. Though, I just copied it from the one soldier earlier...
Sergeant Charlotte and I both didn't utter a single word until we walked up to this big tent. But before entering, she paused just a step right before the tent entrance.
"..."
A long silence came.
"...What's wrong, Sergeant-"
