That smirk.
That cheeky way of speaking.
And that way of referring to me as 'Machine'
"..."
The person right in front of me is... Ken.
"Ugh...!" Ken squirmed, pinching his nose. "Holy shit dude...!"
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"You reek! What happened to your clothes?!"
"What's wrong with it?"
"Is this..." he mumbled, leaning his head to my clothes with his hands still pinching his nose, "puke?"
"Hmm?" I, too, look at my clothes, confused. "Oh, I forgot about this..."
Why did nobody remind me I was still wearing this...?
He removed his hand from his nose and sniffed my clothes. "Fuck, it is puke!" he exclaimed, pinching his nose again as he quickly backed away from me. "You came here with that dirty shit on?!"
"...Is it that bad?"
"Jeez," he chuckled. "You're the same as ever..."
"...?"
Does Ken smile this often? From the way I see it, he doesn't even try to force it.
Ken's mood, I don't understand it...
"Sorry to interrupt your wholesome reunion," General Roger interrupted, suddenly appearing behind Ken, "but can I take some of your time?"
"..." Ken didn't budge a muscle nor mutter a single word as he continued to look at me with a smirk.
Looking at General Roger behind him, I noticed him pointing a revolver right at the back of Ken's head. Because of his huge stature, starting from his shoulder up to his head poked out from the barricade revealing it unguarded to the soldiers from the other side.
"I think you should lower your head a little bit," Ken said without even looking behind him, still smirking. "You don't want a hole in your head, right?"
"Thanks for the concern," General Roger slowly cocked his revolver, "but I don't need that from a traitor..."
"..."
Everyone nearby found themselves staring at them dumbfounded, subconsciously stopping firing.
"Who said to stop firing?" General Roger growled without looking at them, still pointing his revolver at Ken's head.
The petrified soldiers earlier immediately started to fire their guns at the other side again.
"A traitor, huh..." Ken mumbled, his expression slowly turning stern.
"I think you're mistaken, General Roger -"
"Shut up, Rem," General Roger cut me off, knitting his eyebrows. "This is none of your business..."
"If you want to shoot me," Ken said in a low tone, his face expressionless, "then do it."
General Roger quickly swayed his arm in the direction of the enemy and fired one of the soldiers approaching right in the head without looking. Again, the soldiers nearby became speechless and stopped pulling their triggers.
"For the second time," General Roger yelled, "who ordered you to stop firing!?"
"...!" They jolted and immediately resumed firing.
"Gotta say, your accuracy didn't change a bit after all these years," Ken slowly faced General Roger, smirking. "You don't even look at someone while killing them. Are you a monster or what?"
