Ch. 32; -Betrayal-

The fog was as thick as it ever could be, almost impossible to breathe without deep breaths. The star fill bridge looked like it could collapse any moment. They carefully proceeded on their way. Taking twice as long, and twice as many breaks.

The red fog was very, very close to them now. It's bright colour could be seen amidst the current fog, and none knew what it was. As they were resting, a crack could be heard. They look down to see a small crack, that looked like no threat at all. "Let's go.." Kazuha whispers, standing up as slowly as possible.

The machines that let them move quickly were getting refilled with the coal they needed to work. As the main person stood in the middle, looking at the sky. "Finally. After all these years.." They muttered out. Quietly, waiting. Examining a vial in their hands.

"Boss. The Ruin Graders are ready once again. We are awaiting your command." One of the soldiers shout out, bowing. "Hm.. Alright then, let's move out." And the group got back to their path.

The smaller figure was practically rushing with his own "Ruin Grader" trying to get to the place the other group was going for. Having to take longer and more hidden paths greatly slowing him down. Yet he was in front of them, since he didint have to wait for more than one machine "charge".

He reaches the mountain path that went upwards. Quickly looking up and down, running towards the forest next to the path. After a long time of running, he spots something quite shiny on the ground. He bends down to pick it up, realizing it's the necklace of a certain prince. "Shit." He looks up, the bridge they are on won't last longer.

He knows that, so he is gonna try predicting where they are, catch them with the Ruin Grader, and get them to a safe place before the other person can do anything.

The forest wasn't here. The path was just an illusion to confuse people. It wouldn't be this easy. They reached the end of the maze. Even tho the map said to follow the path after this, there was no path. The survivor(s) Heizou got the map from thought there was a path. They never got to the end.

They stared at the cracks. They had to turn back. In fact, now.

But the moment they started running, the glass was already shattering from the start of the maze. "Heizou?" He looked back at his companion. The detective sighs, knowing this is the end. "I'm sor-" before he could finish,

The glass shatters.

"Hngh!" The albino lets out a groan as he landed on something. Which seemed to be moving. The Field Tiller slowly lowered him down towards the figure. As Heizou was already patched up in a matter of seconds. Wide awake, just back injury.

The figure cradles Kazuha in their arms gently, having the bandages with them, patching his back up too. Heizou looks at the person, seeing them take off the hood as he was walking up to them.

A deep raven colored hair reveals under the hood. The detective's eyes widen. "Scaramouche?.." He whispers. The prince turns his head to look at the berry-head. "Don't make a scene. " The other scoffs. "How can I not-!? You just came out of nowhere. Dressed up as a fatui skirmisher or whatever, saved us with a Ruin Grader, and you tell me to not make a scene?"

"We need to go. Now. Save your useless bickering for later." He picks up Kazuha and makes all 3 of them sit down on the left arm of the Ruin Grader. It was a long silent ride. "Where are we going?" Heizou asks quietly. The raven mutters out "The boat. We need to go." Kazuha on his lap jolts his head up. "What? No! We can't just leave this mission here? We need to find that forest." Scaramouche clicks his tongue. "Your map was wrong. If it wasn't for me you would be bleeding out to death."

All 3 of them frown at the same time. At that moment he remembers something that could potentially let Kazuha cheer up. He takes out the necklace from his pocket, and puts it on for him. The albino looks down at it, then at the prince and hugs him tight. "Thank you.. I thought I lost it forever." Heizou smiles at the scene. Knowing atleast his friend got his treasure back.

Once they were back at the boat. A deep voice was heard from behind them. "That's very nice of you to bring our targets right to us, Balladeer." Scaramouche looks back just to see The Doctor. "Dottore.." He hisses. Kazuha was looking at them awkwardly while Heizou just stared in disbelief.

"You were a Fatui Harbinger all along? As much as I figured, I thought we could trust you." The albino stays silent. Since it was only Heizou. He already knew. They were interrupted by the deep voice once again. "Take them. Make sure to that the products from their boat was secured nicely." The tall male looks down at the raven, watching him gaze upon his 2 friends being taken away.

On the other hand, Kazuha actually thought his own lover would do a move. Atleast try to run after them. But no. He just stayed there. Looking at them. He had no choice but just stare into his eyes. As if. "I trusted you."

"Good job, dear Kunikuzushi. I went back to Liyue Harbor before and fixed up your robot too. You can start your plan." He smiles bittersweetly.

All Scaramouche could do was just stare at the ground before going back on the boat.
