Authors pov

Alex entered the room after changing, he could keep her in his guest room as he reserved it for something else.

If she stays close to me, I can keep a watch on her.

Mia watched Alex as he got into bed next to her. Her heart racing with emotions mostly irritation.
"Are you sleeping here ?" She asked irritated
"This is my bed " Alex replied calmly

It's is common sense though it's my room my bed where else I'm I going to sleep

Mia moves the pillows to make a divide between the two of them. Alex scoffs at the her action. He decides to toy with her so with a smile on his face.
"If you don't like me sleeping here why don't you sleep on the floor?" He teased.  Mia takes one good look at him before getting all the blanket and pillows including the one under Alex.
"Hey!!" He says as the pillow is violently pull from under his head.

Mia simply smiles at him before dropping all the pillows and blankets on the floor to make her bed.

Alex crawls on the bed until he can see Mia. She pulls the cover over her, turns her back to Alex and tries to go to sleep, exhausted physical and mentally she drifts in and out of sleep. Alex watches her as her breathing slows down indicating she is a asleep.

His mind thinks about what she told him early on.

Villain she thinks I'm a villain I guess it's for the best, the closer she gets to me the more dangerous it is for her

After a while he get off the bed and walks slowly towards Mia. He carefully picks her up and lays her on the bed, he moves away a stray hair on her face. Mia opens her eyes halfway and smiles at him before going back to sleep. This was the second time he has seen Mia smile.

His inner wolf howls to be close to his mate but Alex refuse. The night when Mia went missing Alex couldn't sleep nor eat his inner wolf wanted to find her and so did Alex.

Maybe just maybe if I wasn't alpha things could have been different for us

A few days ago

"Alex I found it " Jack shouts from across the library. Alex rushes towards Jack

"The emblem on Mia's family album, it's the same as this one." Jack points out to and old book. Alex takes the book from Jack and begin to skim through the pages before he finds it.
"No way.... it makes sense now " Jack says surprised.
But Alex just stares at the book, his hands gripping the edge of the book tightly.
"She is a half blood !" Alex says out loud

Why would mother lie ? Mia is not the enemy

He thinks as he stares of a photo of Mia's mother and his.(age 8)

"Look " Jack says as he points to house in back.
"Is that not one of the old pack houses" Jack's says as he move his finger lips as he tries to think which old pack it was.

"Crystal moon pack" Alex says as he remembers looking at the photos that were hung in his grandfather's study.
"So Mia is orginally from the crystal moon pack " Jack states

"Was her mother of alpha descendants" Jack asked as he tries to take a closer look at the photo.
"Most likely that's why she received the threat in the back of the album " Alex replied calmly.

Some of the werewolves from the other pack left after helping us defeat the human hunters but I doubt a normal werewolf would receive threats like this.

"Jack see what you can find out about this and report back straight to me " Alex ordered and Jack nodded in response.
"Do you think who ever threatened Mia was the same person to kidnap her" Jack asked worried about Mia.
"Maybe" Alex replied seriously as he left his office to follow the one lead he had.
