Chandler Xu believed that she was living a pretty mediocre life, despite what others might think about her. Many believed that she was practically living the dream because she was gifted with every luxury known to mankind. She was filthy rich, she wears designer clothes, she drives an expensive sports car, she is popular and is dating the hottest boy in the entire school. She practically had it all.

The girl was a force to reckon with and everyone immediately knew with just one glance that she held upmost importance. She was the definition of perfection, which made her stand out from the rest of the crowd. She was something that many people practically fantasize about and only few are able to actually achieve. Many believed her picturesque life was nothing less than perfect.

But in reality, Chandler was absolutely miserable with her own life. Though she was grateful for all of the luxuries that she had been so graciously gifted, she still couldn't help but feel like that she was trapped in this invisible box. She wanted to break free from this 'perfect' mold that was tightly encased around her elegant features.

And no matter how hard she tried to escape it, she could feel the walls practically closing in on her to the point that she was beginning to suffocate. It felt like a pair of heavy chains had been tightly wrapped around her ankles, halting any of her attempts to continue trudging forward and discovering the freedom that she so desperately craved.

Even in the midst of the school dance, something that was meant to be so fun and so carefree, Chandler couldn't help but feel miserable.

The girl was trying her best to ignore all the negative emotions that lingered in the back of her brain and focus on living in the current moment but she couldn't bring herself to do so. She so desperately wished that she could allow the world to melt around her and ignore the pressure that rested on her shoulders but no matter how hard she tried to forget, that didn't stop the feeling of unhappiness that continued to eat away at her soul.

"What's wrong?" The girl was abruptly pulled out of her thoughts and was met with the sight of her boyfriend, Lucas, who stared at her with worried eyes.

She slowly blinked and was re-greeted with the sight of the obnoxious strobe lightening and loud music being played over the abundance of hush voices. She was brought back to the harsh reality that she was still trapped at the school dance, despite how much she wanted to escape.
