Chandler Xu had to admit that she wasn't the biggest fan of parties, despite constantly being told that it was something that she was supposed to enjoy. People had always implanted this idea into her head that she had to like parties because she was young and she was pretty. There was this belief that nothing liven up a party faster than the appearance of a young pretty girl, who would catch the attention of practically everyone in the room.

But the teen girl had quickly come to learn that she didn't want to be the centre of attention. For as long as she could remember, she was constantly made aware about how young and how pretty she was and how others would perceive her based off of those superficial features. And as she's grown, she had become more uncomfortable with the amount of eyes that would follow her every move as if she was the goddess of beauty herself.

Even a simple glance from another person was enough to her to desperately hope for the ground to suddenly open up and swallow her whole. She didn't want to be perceived by anybody because of how young or how pretty she may be, she just wanted to be seen as a normal teenage girl. She constantly strayed away from social events like parties because nobody would ever grant that peace of mind that she so desperately wanted.

But for some reason, the Cobra Kai party felt different than all of the other parties that she had been forced to attend throughout her life. At every other party, she merely felt like a piece of expensive artwork on display, something for everyone to gawk at but here . . . she was just a regular person, someone that they called friend.

Many of the teens had looked past her beauty, preferring to focus on what laid beneath the surface. They saw her for who she really was, something that she didn't experience often. She didn't have to be anything but herself and she enjoyed that. She wasn't just the young or pretty or popular girl that everyone vaguely knew, she was just herself.

"I got you something to drink." The girl was abruptly pulled out of daydream and turned to be greeted with the sight of her boyfriend. "There was no cream soda, so I just got you a sprite instead."

"Thanks." Chandler happily accepted the electric green can that was being offered to her.

"This party is actually kind of better than most of the parties I've gone to." Lucas couldn't help but admit in disbelief upon taking a closer look at the vibrant atmosphere that surrounded them.

"I know right." Chandler nodded in agreement.

"Yeah and I didn't expect a group of losers to actually be able to throw an actually good party. I was expecting something way worse than this." Lucas couldn't help but let out a chuckle of amusement at the realization.
