Today, Marlene, Lily and I were in the library, "studying". We weren't actually doing any work we just came to chat and catch up because this is the one place the marauders wouldn't be.

"So, Sophia..." Marlene propped her head up on her elbows, "How's Sirius?"

"Very funny, Marls," I rolled my eyes at her.

Marlene had made it very clear in the past that she wanted Sirius and I to get together.

"No, I mean it. You guys seemed to be having a very amusing conversation in potions the other day." She smiled innocently and pretended to write something down on a piece of parchment so that Madam Pince wouldn't kick us out for not doing any work.

"He said something funny that made me laugh, it's no big deal." I said, calmly. It was just a fluke, Sirius Black was still as infuriating as ever.

"No big deal!?" She exclaimed, loudly and got a "SHHH!" from Madam Pince.

She lowered her voice and said, "It is a big deal, you looked like you were almost... enjoying a conversation with him." She wiggled her eyebrows at me.

"You're overreacting, Marls. He's an ass and I still hate him."

"If you say so." She sighed and popped a chocolate frog in her mouth.

I noticed Lily staring at me and smirking.

"What are you looking at?" I sassed.

"You loooove him." Lily said in a sing-song voice, making kissing noises and pinching my cheek. How mature of her.

I whacked her away and said, "Love him? Absolutely not. And you can pipe down, I saw you getting cosy at the quidditch stands with that Hufflepuff boy while Marlene and I were training."

"He was asking about you, actually." She replied, casually.

I perked up at this. He was interested in me?

"Huh?" I asked, trying not to sound too eager, "What was he saying?"

"Yes, do tell, Lilith," Marlene smiled, loving the gossip.

"Well, he asked me your name and, obviously, I told him and then he asked if I could introduce him to you," She explained.

"AND YOU DIDN'T THINK TO TELL ME?" I shouted, attracting some attention from people nearby.

I can't believe she didn't tell me! Training was like a week ago.

"If I have to speak to your group one more time, YOU WILL BE OUT!" Madam Pince hissed, shaking her head in disappointment. She usually wouldn't expect this from me and Goody two-shoes. Marlene on the other hand, she would expect this from.

I whispered a quick "Sorry," to her and then turned back to Lily.

"I forgot about it, sorry," Lily answered my question.

"Sophia has got herself an admirer." Marlene teased, leaning back on her chair so that it was balancing on two legs.

"She has quite a few admirers, actually," Lily stated, smirking up at me.

"What?" I said, feeling confused.

I jumped down from the desk I was sat on top of and sat on the spare chair, eager to know what she was taking about.

"Oh, come on, Soph you've changed alot over the past two years and everyone can see it. So we are supposed to believe that you're just completely oblivious to all the stares you get?" Marlene asked, raising her eyebrows.

I just stared blankly at her.

"Merlin, you actually are oblivious," She laughed, tapping me on the nose, mockingly, "Bless."

"Very funny, guys," I scoffed at them both and crossed my arms.

"We're not joking, I mean, that Ravenclaw has been looking right at you for like, ten minutes now," She said, nodding to the left of us.

I looked over at where she was nodding to see a cute, brunette Ravenclaw sat with a few of his friends, pretending to read. I knew he was pretending because it's quite hard to read when your book is upside down. He looked up, making eye contact with me and grinning.

One of his friends whacked him around the back of his head and said, "Jack, stop staring, you look like such a creep."

I turned back around and could feel myself blushing. Marlene and Lily both laughed at my embarrassment, which made my face go even redder.

"You see now?" Marlene asked, still laughing.

"Yes," I said, shyly.

Boys were a completely new concept to me. I'd never had a real relationship. I mean, I made out and flirted with Gideon Prewett sometimes whenever there was a Gryffindor party but that was about it.
Gideon and I were good friends that enjoyed the occasional make out session. We both agreed that we wouldn't work in a real relationship, so flirty friends was a good idea. He's hot and a great kisser, what more could a girl want?

When I was in my fourth year of Hogwarts, I really wanted to be one of the popular girls. I tried to make friends with all the pretty girls that got all the boys but I never really fit in with them. I never actually liked them I just wanted to be like them.

I grew out of that phase, luckily.

"Anyways back to Sirius." Lily started, but I cut her off.

"Really? Again?" I questioned, not wanting to hear about my "love" for Black.

"I was just going to ask if you heard that he ran away from home in the summer?"

"No," I said as Marlene said "Yes," at the same time.

"Yeah. I mean, everybody knows about his family," She started, a sad look on her face.

The Black family were a pure-blood family who were very well known for being supporters of You-Know-Who. They hated muggle-borns and half-bloods, claiming that they shouldn't be allowed at Hogwarts. The whole Black bloodline has been in Slytherin, that was until Sirius came along.

"James told me that one night, Sirius turned up at his door with a suitcase in his hand and big, purple bruises all over him."

I gasped. How did I not know about this?

"Yeah, James said it was awful, that he wouldn't speak to anyone for a week." Lily said, frowning at the thought.

"Wait, Lily?" Marlene asked, looking thoughtful.

"Yes," She replied.

"You were speaking to James?" She raised her eyebrows, dropping the topic of Sirius.

Lily went a light shade of pink and said, "He's my potions partner, I kinda have to talk to him."

"Sure you do," I smirked.

Marlene and I both started laughing, loudly.

Suddenly, Madam Pince appeared out of nowhere, "RIGHT, OUT OF MY LIBRARY NOW!" She screeched and we all ran away, still laughing.

The cute Ravenclaw boy smirked at me (with his book still upside down) as I ran past.

We left the library and I couldn't stop thinking about what Lily had said about Sirius. He went through something horrible and he covered it up so well that I would have never thought. I guess there is more to him than meets the eye.
