With much love, my author's note this hiatus was very unexpected. I thought about this book since it is near the end and I took 3 chapters off since they were just fillers with nothing to do with the plot. But these last few chapters will have a lot to do with the plot and since this book will end soon, depending on how well this will do on Wattpad I might make an second book.
TWENTY-TWO : If I could Run
If I could run I'll run for miles
I'll run until I know my problems couldn't catch up
I'll run until my feet gives out
I'll run until I could no longer see
The problems that are chasing after me.
Cheyenne Amore Martin
Cheyenne was confused; she didn't want to go back to her dorm, or stay at Austin's and make matters worse.
All she could think about was the fact that she slept with her friend, not even a boyfriend as her first time.
And she liked it.
Cheyenne didn't like most sexual activity she was forsaken to endure but this was more than different. She was comfortable the whole time.
Quietly down the narrow hallway all Cheyenne could do was walk blank minded not knowing what to do next, she might just have ruined that friendship that was created. Horrid thoughts were running through her mind. As the elevator dinged signaling that it was open she mindlessly walked in.
She stood with her red heels in my hand while the socks stopped any dirt from touching her feet. Her long trench coat that once stopped her from feeling exposed did nothing as she walked out the elevator.
Luckily, Anguilla was close nearby as she posted on her story. Cheyenne stood in the middle of the dormitory, pulled her phone out and called her.
Cheyenne never called without texting first.
Anguilla was driving around trying to take her mind off the first argument with her boyfriend which she loved deeply. Somehow God always connected them two wherever they were struggling emotionally. He knew that they needed each other.
After only a ring Anguilla answered, placing her phone on her lap as she drove through the now empty streets. Turning the volume down so she could hear the words.
"Hey, do you think we can hang out?" Cheyenne sadly spoke from the other end.
Anguilla's eyes swiftly checked the time on the dashboard it read three thirty am. She checked her GPS and rerouted it to Cheyenne's location in seconds. "It's three am..?" Her voice is sweet but questioning.
"I'm well aware." Cheyenne mumbled with the slightest attitude due to the fact she was mad at herself. She liked Austin a lot more than anyone she has ever met up to this point. She felt conflicted and that whatever she had for Austin was going to end horribly.
"Oh my gosh! What happened?" Anguilla knows Cheyenne. Unless she was under pressure she would've tried to be patient with others.
"Can we just talk in person?" Cheyenne was starting to feel anxious. Thoughts about Austin coming down the hall and asking her why she left. Or him never wanting to see her again after they had just slept together.
That was one of Cheyenne's most inadequate insecurities. Her fear of being judged caused her to judge others on how they would feel or how they felt about her without actually talking to them about their real feelings. Unbeknown to herself it would be her greatest downfall.
"Already on my way, Sweetheart." Anguilla tenderly muttered to her the words came out of a place of endearment. But what she didn't know was that one word made Cheyenne think of all of the million butterfly inducing names that he would call her.
Quietly Cheyenne sat on one of the couches available at the entrance of the dormitories. Nothing left to say but the bitter taste of the uncertainty of what Austin would think of her. But little did she know he longed for her even after a night like that.
Half an hour later Anguilla was in front of the dormitory with food for comfort. Cheyenne slid into one of the seats. Silence was on the two as she ate thinking about how she was even going to explain the story.
"Anguilla, remember Austin?" Cheyenne questioned while getting her trash together to throw out.
"Not really." Anguilla never took the time to meet her friends' romantic partners. She always felt like relationships most of the time were a transaction; she could never see them as a thing where the other would stay because of love not because of needs. That's what started the argument between her boyfriend now.
"I like him a lot, and I just don't know if he even likes me as much as I like him." Cheyenne was kind of rambling but what she said was true, that's why Anguilla didn't put too much trust in her boyfriend now.
"I mean like you guys haven't fooled around or anything so I think you should look at all his actions from when you met and decide based on that" Anguilla explained.
"No, Anguilla we did." Cheyenne's brown eyes never disconnected with her. She never told a lie to her friend and it wasn't gonna start now.
"You can't be fucking lying right now!" Anguilla exclaimed, slightly confused but willing to support her friend in every way possible. She started to drive to her house about forty minutes away from where they were.
"I'm not. Get me the hell away from here." Cheyenne sighed and looked out the window, hands crossed.
"So it was bad? Or what?" Anguilla started to drive onto the highway as she spoke her eyes never left the road.
"Not at all. But I mean it's out of wedlock." Cheyenne started to express the fact she didn't want to have any sexual relations out of wedlock.
"I can tell you this right now so many people fuck without being married I swear it is not a crime." Anguilla tried to make her friend feel better.
"Well, I don't even wanna think about it. I might have just messed up a good thing" Cheyenne let all of her thoughts fall out of her mouth just so she could hear what the other had to say.
"I mean some dudes after they're done they would mostly likely kick you out without giving a shit about you." Anguilla explained "Like the fact that he wanted you to stay the night means something." She suggested as she was driving towards the exit leaving Cheyenne to think about what had just happened.
And just like that the pair stayed up and that upcoming Monday morning they spent the day together without thinking of any repercussions knowing they had to face the mess they made the next day.
