FIVE: Austin

If I could undo all the pain you caused

I might not have known you at all

Narrator

Austin was out of control when he wasn't in control. Control is the power to influence people's behavior in a course of events.  His desire for control started at a young age and learned that money was a way to get it. Money equals authority over people no matter how old you are.

His father would tell him what money could buy friends, loyalty and more.

Back when Austin was just a boy Justin Channing was a different person, he believed that his inheritance money ran the world, he thought that the money was all he needed showering his wife and kids in jewelry, buying multiple homes and houses for getaways in islands where most people would never smell the air.

That was Justin's young minded actions that paved the way of Austin's thinking. Yet Austin didn't know what was instore for him as he grew up.

He was almost never home, and often left Austin with a babysitter named Claire. Claire was fairly tall around five foot nine was a slim figure with wide hips, jet black hair flowing to her shoulders.

She almost lived with Austin at times when his father was out and away doing what he wanted with who he wanted but would leave money to take care of him which was more than enough.

Claire was the first person that showed him manners, how to act with people, what was good and bad. She took him in as if he was one of her own when he needed it she was truly heaven sent.

Claire's hands were tied because of babysitting, Austin earliest memory of her is when she took him and other kids she was with to go see the animals at the zoo. Austin loved every moment of being with kids his age.

One of the most important things he learned was when they were in the zoo, he was in the fields  with the goats feeding one of them hay as she glazed behind him to see the other kids doing the same thing. But one of the kids was with a dog.

She had ponytails in her hair with small bows at the ends of them. She was wearing an all white dress because she had just come back from church, and was wearing her 'Sunday's best' and she was getting all dirty.

Austin grabbed her and tried to pull her out of the hay but she just started screaming her lungs out so he let her go right as Claire came running.

"Austin you can't do that. Bug's very sensitive when touching her." Claire grabbed him from the stack of hay. He didn't know her real name but what he did know was she was messing up her church clothes.

Claire told him she wasn't supposed to do that.

But Claire taught him how he couldn't do what he wanted all the time, how people would do things he didn't like but he couldn't stop them

He didn't need to be in control all the time. Sadly that was the last time he saw Claire.

His mother was almost never home after giving birth to Austin, she went on to be a 'junkie' as his dad will say. Enola Channing was a free soul as many would call it; her thick cherry colored hair, her green downturned eyes got her a job in modeling.

She was on every magazine cover. A star in every state.

Austin took after her, but since she was never around she was just a memory from when he was younger.

Her dreams of becoming a star were coming true, until she met Claudia. Enola met Claudia at a bar, at the time Claudia was working the corner down the block high as a kite when she laid eyes on Enola. And Enola was taking a break from filming a new movie, drinking a nice ice cold cup of vodka.
