Back at base

Welp, a few more survivors and the same story over and over. Lately that's been the same damn thing. That was until today.

Saturday,May 30,2026

I woke up to me in well, half naked. I sighed and then my smile grew more when I saw the love of my life by my side. I smiled, and then thought might give him a wake up call. I crawled on top straddling his waist. I snuggled to him, and fell back asleep.

I love this man right here, he's the love of my life, and I want to spend eternity with my big Koala bear. 

Downstairs: library

I was in the library when I felt a pain in my chest, I looked to see it was nothing, probably just a cramp? Right?

That's when I heard the alarm going off? " why why can't we have a fuckin normal day for once?"

I slammed my book shut. And stormed out of the library away from my quiet space of peace.

Security room

"What now?" I growled, and already saw two out of the six fighting, " draco, olar, fermoar." They shut up quickly, " thank you. Spill, what's with the goddamn alarm?" I then saw where it was coming from, I then squealed " fuck yes." Death Valley California. " thank you hades." I kissed Chris, he looked at me like I was nuts. " I know I'm crazy, and you love me for it." He smiled, " always."

" Welp, who wants to go to Death Valley with me?" I saw a look Betty gave me, " How about a girls trip?" We smiled, " I'm down for it."

Girls trip

Hermoine, Betty, Veronica, Toni, cheryll, Vicki, coreen, Jessica, Rebekah, Hayley, haley.

So this is all of us who are going. And I'm very happy about it, because I haven't gotten to spend time with them. Mainly because I've been trying to control a never ending hunger. So yeah.. I brought an emergency snack kit.

Back to chapter 10

In the car:

We got in the car, grabbed a small overnight bag, and we just took the stretch, because we don't know who's going with who and what so. But for now let's hit the road.

On the road

I'm happy, this is fun so far, we are having fun, telling stories, singing at the top of our lungs. Annoying the crap out of each other, and yes we are taking shifts with driving.

Two days later:

Death Valley California

" never would I think I would see the sights of California. I can't believe we are here?" That's when I saw corpses amongst corpses. " I suggest we wait a minute, I feel we're entering dangerous territory."

We got out our weapons, a pistol, double barrel, bow, and a sword. So this might be fun.

We got out, I had the keys, that's when we heard a scream, we looked over and saw a girl running for her life, " please help me. He's trying to kill me." She had blood on her neck, my eyes started to change, I could feel the hunger grow, " haley? Control it."

I took a deep breath, and it didn't help. That's when I saw this tall man walking to us. I heard Vicki, " woah." My thoughts exactly, he had a pair of leather pants on, no shirt, " control the thoughts ladies."

We had all weapons aimed, He spoke, " Greetings ladies." I changed my eyes to black. " Who are you?" He smirked, " I could ask you the same thing doll." I growled, " who sent the distress call?" That's when we saw this girl, " that would be me." I kept my guard up, " I mean no harm. I'm Jesse reeves." I replied, " Haley?" She asked, " we need your help. Your welcome to come inside."

We walked in, and when I couldn't betty asked, " can you invite her in please." Jesse nodded, " you can come in." And with those simple words, It's okay to go inside.

" thank you Jesse." I was in aw, " holy cheese balls." She laughed, " that's new?" I laughed, " I'm trying not to swear much. Because I swear a lot." The girls said, " it's true."

I felt my hair move, " dude? The hell are you doing?" Jesse said, " don't mind him, he's just upset that he hasn't eaten in the past week." I sighed, " I can't believe I'm about to say this, what's his name?" He replied, " lestat." I sighed, " lestat, go to the car, in the back first cooler. You can thank me later."

He slowly walked out, Jesse asked, " what's in the cooler?" I replied, " blood bags. Few years ago, I raided a hospital for my boyfriend. Because at times I didn't feel like getting bitten."

" smart." Soon enough Lester came back with a blood bag, and kept quiet, " welp he's going to be quiet for a while."

I laughed, and Betty asked, " How long have you both been here?" She replied, " seven years?" I felt my eyes go wide, " holy-" I heard roni, " watch it haley." I rolled my eyes, " I didn't think anyone would've even gotten the distress signal." I replied, " luckily I got a few messages from around. And it helps, because in this day and age, who knows."

She agreed, " yeah. I hate to ask this but if possible can we please go with you?" I replied, " sure. But I might have an idea, let me make a quick phone call. And I'll check back with you."

I walked outside, and that's when things went to shit. I saw people from fucking triad. " you got to be fucking kidding me." I heard a very familiar voice, " hello love, glad you decided to join the party." I felt my instincts kick in, and my wings showed, and my eyes went black, fangs out. The mama bear in me is pissed the fuck off. " you have one of two options, come with us peacefully or come by force."

I hissed, and that's when I felt my throat cave in, something was choking me, " cloaking spell always works. Especially when you have ancestors on your side." I grabbed the person by the wrist, and what I saw shocked the hell out of me, " try anything and it will be your head." I laughed, " pavor hinc innocentes passio perenni inferno adulteri stupri. numquam ill praevaricator"

With that he made the grip tighter, I felt my airways become shorter, that's when I heard, " Haley!" I shut my eyes, I hate that they have to see me like this. That's when I felt things snap, I saw an arrow fly. And it hit, " roni!" That's when I broke free, and let out a wicked howl.

It sounded like a fucking wolf. My eyes changed, I'm wondering with what the hell I am now? Then again, I'm just a rare case. Hahaha. Let kick there fuckin asses. I got loose of the man's grip, I snapped his arm in half, and grabbed what I guess was a gun? " Nobody moves, no one gets hurt."

I aimed it at the people of the triad, that's when I saw the man in my face, " you're a fighter? I can sense you got a fire in you." He smirked, " pass a little message on for me."

I growled, " go back to hell lucien." He laughed choking me, " fell Nicklaus I'm back, and he will fall by my hand." With that he ripped my neck open. As a shark killing its prey. I couldn't move, my body just fell, my eyes became heavy to the touch.

Hour and a half later

I woke up in a comfy tempurpedic bed. I jolted awake. I felt this numbing pain in my neck. I jumped when I saw, " Jesus Christ, you scared the hell out of Lestat. What are you doing here anyways?" He replied, " it is my shift." I held my head, " shift for what?" " to watch over you. Since they aren't here yet."

I sighed, " I swear I need a drink." I sped out to the car, and came back with a bottle of whiskey. I questioned, " who's room am I in?" He replied, " this guest room Haley. So there's nothing to worry about." I sighed, " okay."

Few days after

Things have been going not so smoothly, apparently triad and the government wants our heads. And by us, I mean me. I won't let my family get hurt, nor friends. That's why I'm leaving. I will leave through the night, but it will be the hardest thing I've ever done.
