"No Riley?" Peter asked as you were making dinner.

"She's spending the weekend at her friend Maggie's house."

"So, you finally get a break?"

"I do."

"What're you gonna go?"

"Drink cheap wine and watch bad reality shows."

"Sounds fun."

"It's not."

"You wanna do something actually fun?"

"What do you have in mind?"

"I went on Google-"

"You know how to use Google now?"

"Please, hold your applause."

"Right, sorry."

"I was looking for something to do, and I found this karaoke bar."

"I told you, I don't sing in front of people."

"You sang in front of me."

"You're the only exception."

"You sound amazing. Which is why we need to do karaoke."

"I'll go to the bar, but I'm not singing."

"One song."

"No."

"Half a song."

"I'm very close to not going at all."

"Fine! You win!"

"I'll pick you up at 10:00."

You put the finishing touches on your hair and makeup and started picking out your outfit.

"Jeans? Skirt? Dress?"

You looked through your closet until you found a red silk top. You paired it with black jeans and heels.

Once you got dressed, you walked out the door and headed to your car. You texted Peter to tell him you were on your way before pulling onto the road.

You pulled up to the house and waited in the driveway. A few moments later, he came out and got into the car.

"Hey."

"Hi."

"Thanks for coming."

"Thanks for saving me from boredom."

"You look great."

"Oh, thanks. You too."

"How about we get some karaoke practice in?"

"You can."

You turned on the radio and went to the 70's station.

"This was my mom's favorite." He smiled

"There's a port on a western bay, and it serves a hundred ships a day. Lonely sailors pass the time away, and talk about their homes." He sang.

"Maybe you should drop the superhero thing, and become a singer."

"You think?"
