"Riley? You need anything?" Peter asked as he knocked on the bathroom door.

"I'm fine, Peter."

"Okay. I'll just be right outside."

"Bye."

He walked away and went back downstairs to join Jason on the couch. A few minutes later, you walked through the front door and set your bags down on the counter.

"She's still here, right?"

"Yeah. She's upstairs."

"Thank God. Sorry I'm late. This kid at the doctors office would not let me do the checkup."

Jason's cough had flared up again. You patted him on the back while Peter got a tissue and some water.

"Grandpa, you okay?"

"I'm as okay as I can be."

"You've been getting worse."

"That's what cancer does to ya, Pete."

"What about another surgery?"

"He had one a year ago." You said. "The tumor only came back stronger."

"It's okay, Pete. Don't worry about me."

"Grandpa-"

"Leave it alone. I'm done talking about it."

The three of you were sitting on the couch watching TV when the doorbell rang.

"I got it." You said as you walked over to the door.

"Hi, Ms. Bailey."

"Hi, Jack. Come on in."

"Hi, Mr. Quill."

"Hey, kid."

Riley came down the stairs and joined you in the living room. She wore a blue dress that matched Jack's tie. You all stood up and smiled at the girl.

"Why's everyone staring at me?"

"You're so beautiful, munchkin."

"Mom, don't cry."

"I'm trying."

"You look amazing, kid."

"You really do."

Jack walked over to her and smiled.

"You look great."

"So do you."

He opened the small plastic box he had and pulled out a corsage. He put it on her wrist before she pinned the boutonniere on his jacket.

"Okay, time to go." She said.

"Wait! Pictures!"

You all took out your phones and held them up.

"Smile!"

"We have to go! We're meeting Maggie and Ben at the school!"

"Just a few more!"

"Bye, guys!"

She took his hand and headed towards the door.

"Drive safe!"

"Okay!"

"Be home by 11:00!"

"I will!"

"Keep it PG!"
