"Y/N, wait!"
Y/N didn't wait. She knew that Shouta was going to ask her questions and she didn't have the time to answer questions and she didn't want to make up excuses, either. Y/n just got out of the canteen as quickly as possible. She didn't know where Haruto was, but he had to be somewhere close to the school grounds. How else would he have managed to get this picture of her and Shouta eating together?
When she had seen it, she had almost gotten a heart attack. She knew that she hadn't done anything wrong, of course – she just had lunch with a co-worker. But she knew that Haruto wasn't going to listen to reason. To him, it looked like she was having lunch with some other man, as if they were having some sort of date. Hell, he had even caught her out in the lie of her missing the bus, because she had to go to the bathroom beforehand. She knew that he was going to be incredibly angry. She had no time to talk to Shouta. Especially not, when Haruto might be able to see them. She just got out of the main doors when she felt someone grabbing her wrist and stopping her. Had Shouta actually followed her?
She spun around to see who was holding her back and there he was. Shouta Aizawa, the most unemotional man she had ever met in her life, holding her by the wrist and giving her a worried look. Y/N wasn't sure whether she even spotted a hint of sadness in his eyes. Was he actually upset that she had left so quickly? Y/N could feel herself panicking. What if he was upset? What was he going to do?
"Where are you going?" Shouta asked her. Y/N was frozen. He was still holding her wrist, but his grip had become gentler. He wasn't going to hurt her, was he? She needed to figure out some excuse. She needed to go. Now. She had no idea where Haruto was and she was terrified that he might be able to see them.
"I need to leave, Shouta. I'm sorry, I-"
"Is it your husband?"
"Yes, I..."
"How would he know that you were having lunch?"
"I don't know. I really don't know, but he does know. He saw us. I'm sorry, I have to go, please." Y/N begged and freed her wrist from his grip. Shouta still seemed to try and process what she had just said.
"He saw us?" he asked. Y/N was close to tears now. She was going to get into so much trouble for this. She could hear her phone vibrating in her bag, and she knew that it was Haruto. She didn't even need to look at her phone to know that. He was probably seeing them right now and he was going to be angry.
"I don't know how, but he did. He sent a picture. I'm so sorry, I need to leave, I-"
"Y/N!" she heard a voice shouting behind her. Y/N froze once again. She knew that voice. She would know that voice from miles away. It was a voice that sent a chill down to her very bones. Shouta seemed to notice it, too.
"Is that him?" he wanted to know, a frown on his face. He glanced over her shoulder at Haruto. Y/N nodded.
"I'm sorry, I need to leave." she replied and turned around, quickly heading towards Haruto. He looked angry. He looked so angry. Y/N wasn't sure how she'd be able to ever show up to work again with all of this happening.
She could still feel Shouta's eyes in the back of her head, and she wished that he would just turn around and leave her to her misery, but she knew that that wasn't very likely to happen. Shouta would stay there, maybe he would even follow her, and he would try to talk to Haruto, making everything worse.
"Get in the car, Y/N." was all Haruto said to her when she got there. Y/N could feel the tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. She couldn't cry now. She couldn't let herself cry. Haruto hated it when she cried.
"Sir, what seems to be the problem?" she heard Shouta's voice behind her. So he had been following her.
"Shouta, don't." she said quietly.
