Aizawa couldn't find her. No matter what he tried, he couldn't find her. Nemuri couldn't locate her in any of the shelters, either. It was like she had completely vanished from the face of the earth. Normally, Aizawa would have just given up at that stage, but he had a really bad feeling about this whole thing, and surprisingly, Nemuri and Hizashi agreed that something just seemed to be very off about it.

He had tried calling her, but she wasn't answering her phone at all. The phone didn't seem to be switched off, though, so either she was just not answering or someone else had her phone. She also didn't reply to any of his texts, despite reading them. Or maybe someone else was reading them. Aizawa was almost 100% sure that her husband had installed some software on her phone to spy on her when she was still working at U.A. It wasn't far-fetched to think that he might just have taken her phone away.

At least the calls had stopped for now. So, it had to have been Y/N's husband who kept calling him. This was all so suspicious that Aizawa was thinking of taking some drastic measures. He didn't want to call the cops on him again, but he knew he had to find out what was going on in that house. And there was only one way of finding out – watching the house for a while. Watching what Y/N's husband was doing every day and every night. Maybe he'd figure out something about where Y/N might be.

Of course, he already knew what Aizawa looked like, but that was something that was incredibly easy to overcome. Aizawa had been doing things like this in the past and his best excuse was to pretend to be a homeless man, sleeping rough in one of the house entrances. He had to do a bit of recon to find a suitable spot for himself, but he soon found an abandoned house he could get into easily.

It was far away enough from Y/N's house, so it wouldn't be too suspicious. It wouldn't be the most comfortable place to stay in, but it would do. Aizawa was giving himself two weeks for this, just to see whether he could figure anything out at all. He had a tent, and, in the house, he was somewhat sheltered, at least. He had to hide his hair somehow, but a hat would easily do the trick. A hat and some tattered clothes. Aizawa thought he was pretty convincing. Plus, most people wouldn't even look twice at a homeless guy. Kitted out like that, he made his way to the house he had picked out and set up camp.

The one thing that might cross his plans was if someone called the cops on him. But in that case, he could easily just get out of trouble by talking to Tsukauchi. He might get a bit of a stern talking to, but apart from that he would be fine. This was one of the perks of being a pro-hero – the police were generally on his side. Even when he was doing something as unhinged as this. Aizawa was aware that he really had no business spying on Y/N's husband, since all he was going off was a hunch he had.

Still, he hoped that he would gain some sort of insight. If Y/N was already dead, he wouldn't be able to find out much, of course. He'd assume that her husband would just continue living his life as usual, trying to appear as normal as possible. But if she was still alive and he was keeping her hidden in the house, Aizawa expected that there would be a range of odd behaviours he could see. He just had to pay close attention to what was happening. At first, he was nervous, of course. There was always a chance of being discovered and if that happened, he had absolutely no excuse for being here.

But once the first few days had passed, it would get better. If no one noticed him those first few days, he could assume that he was safe. Maybe he could even get a bit bolder, move a little closer to the house.

Either way, that was all in the future. For now, he was getting used to the same way Y/N's husband was living his life. He woke up when he woke up and went to bed when he went to bed. He made note of every little part of his daily routine. So far, there were only a few suspicious things going on with him, but it was enough to keep him around and to keep him interested in what was going on with him.
