[name] and hirokazu were snooping around in gojo's office, as they had the day off. since neither of them had their drivers licenses yet, they thought they might as well just go explore the school. so their first thought was to check out gojo's office.

"hey! look at this photo frame!" [name] told her classmate, she pointed at the photo that was on gojo's desk.

hirokazu looked over, he recognized the people there. it was obvious on who was who. "oh hey, that's gojo-sensei back when he was a student! and there's ieiri! and... who's that?" he questioned, pointing at another boy in the photo.

[name] raised a brow, she looked down, she didn't recognize this guy. it wasn't any teacher or sorcerer she recognized. "maybe it's kusakabe?"

"yeah he got a hair cut and dyed his hair? they have the same expression, but there is no way that's kusakabe... he got a glow down.." hirokazu said, the big in the photo couldn't have been kusakabe.

"respect your seniors!" [name] scolded, even though they didn't even have kusakabe yet. they couldn't go around talking smack.

"yeah..! i wasn't going to say anything bad, but that's definitely not kusakabe." hirokazu cleared up his explanation from before. but, it was weird that they didn't recognize the guy.

"maybe he died..? oh no, what if we're gonna end up like him!" [name] shrieked, she put her hands on her head as she was starting to panic about this job.

"let's just do the reasonable thing and ask gojo-sensei later.."

"gojo-sensei," [name] spoke up, she sat at her desk as they were taking a small break from class. she put her chin on her palm, waiting for him to turn his attention towards her.

"yup?"

"did you know anyone who had black hair, a bun, and a piece of hair on the side of their head?" she described the details, it was a bit random.

"huh? why are you asking me this all of a sudden?" gojo questioned her, he looked over at hirokazu who seemed to want to get in on the conversation too.

"well.. uh," she stammered.

"we were curious and looked in your office earlier, and we saw a old photo on your desk and saw someone we didn't recognize." hirokazu confessed, it was better than beating around the bush. he didn't like lying to his seniors either.

gojo sighed, he leaned against the chalk board of the classroom. he looked at his students through the bandages and all.

"yeah, i did know someone. his name was.. suguru geto." he had explained, he shoved his hands deep in his pockets. even mentioning the name now.. it kinda hurt too.

"suguru geto? who is he?" [name] asked him, she knew she was being a bit rude for asking a lot of questions. but her curiosity was getting the better of her.

"yeah, i've never recalled hearing that name before." hirokazu said shortly after, he was a bit curious as well. since they actually hadn't known much about their teachers life, and they've known him for almost half of the year now.

"he.." he began to speak, gojo smiled softly. it felt a bit nice to reminisce about back then to his students. "he was my best friend, my only friend if i'll be honest."

[name] looked confused, what did he mean by that? "why 'only friend'? was it like the same thing with me and arai? same class but different years?"

gojo chuckled softly, he shook his head shortly after. "no.. we were the same age. just that he was really the only one who understood me." he informed her.

"what about ieiri? wasnt she in the same year with you and him? from the picture it looked like it." hirokazu said, he leaned forward, on the edge of his chair now. he was invested in his teachers highschool life.

"yeah, shoko was there too. we were a trio, best friends. though, sometimes things don't always go the way you plan." gojo told them, his statement made them confused on what he meant by that.

"huh?" they both mumbled in sync.

"that's a story for another time."

↳ [name] had a lot more of a bubbly and curious personality back in high school. but as soon as she was forced to continue being a sorcerer, she lost of sanity.

↳ shortly after [name] and hirokazu asked about the boy in the photo alongside gojo and ieiri. gojo had arranged for them to take a photo together, that's the photo from chapter "three 'moles'".
