"Watch It!"|| Part 1

I walk around the courtyard, making my daily rounds.

The courtyard has always been peaceful. Nothing disturbs the quiet except the occasional bird singing in the treetops or the buzzing bees hovering around the flower beds.

I love the quietness. It is like an escape from the chaoticness that is my job. I, Y/n, am the royal guard of the Kingdom EverStay. Even though I'm often given the least meaningful jobs because the king doubts my abilities. There is always something crazy happening in this kingdom.

'If only he would give me a chance to prove myself...' I think. My thoughts are interrupted when a maid rushes out of the door nearby.

"Y/n! Prince Chris has requested you in his room!" She says out of breath.

'In his room? That's odd..' I nod and set off for the eldest prince's room.

-----Chan's Pov-----

Looking off the balcony towards the courtyard, I watch as a maid rushes out towards the guard, who's busy doing her rounds.

"Chan? You called?" Han, one of my younger brothers asks. I turn and realize that 4 of my 7 brothers were in the room with me.

"Yes, I have something I need to discuss with everyone." I pause. "The king mustn't know though!"

"Is it what I'm thinking it is?" Hyunjin, the 4th oldest asks. I do nothing but merely nodded in response.

-----Y/n's Pov-----

I rush up the many stairs of the castle. If the prince himself has ordered me to his private quarters, it must be important.

I make it to the top of the stairs and collide with a passing figure, knocking them down in the process.

"Watch it!" The person seethes.

"Shi- I am so sorry-" I glance down at the person I ran into and freeze. "Prince Seungmin, my apologies. I was in a rush." I bow and then extend my hand out for him to take.

To my surprise, he slaps my hand away. "I don't need your help! Pay more attention!" He says while standing up.

'That's Prince Seungmin for you.. the rude 7th born..' I think

I don't have time to apologize again before the prince walked away from me.

"Yah! Are you alright?" A voice behind me chimes. I turn and quickly bow when I realize that it's none other than the youngest prince in front of me.

"Prince Jeongin, I am alright, thank you for your concern," I say, while still bowing. I hear the young prince laugh.

"At ease, I'm sorry for Seungmin.. he's.. in an off mood," Prince Jeongin says while looking towards the direction Prince Seungmin stormed off.

I stand up straight. "No, I deserve his harshness. I was in a rush and wasn't paying attention to where I was going." I say. "Now if you would excuse me, your Highness, I am needed in Prince Chris's room."

"Oh, you're going to Chan's room also? Well then, allow me to accompany you!" He says with a smile on his face.

"Yes, your majesty." I nod. He starts walking and I trail behind him for awhile.

"You can walk beside me you know." The prince says while smiling over his shoulder at me.

"Yes, your highness," I say while falling into step beside him. He chuckles.

"You're very formal." He says. I nod. "I'm in the presence of royalty, I'm supposed to be, your highness." He laughs again.

"I, for one, don't like the complete formal-ness. You can relax a little around me." He says.
