That person is...

Chan.

No matter what he was always looking out for me and his brothers. Even though we haven't had too many interactions altogether, I have slowly caught myself growing fond of the oldest prince. I doubt he feels the same way though, he hasn't shown any signs. Maybe after a while, these silly little feelings will go away.

I sigh, I've been lying awake for hours now. My body wants nothing more than to sleep but my brain is too occupied with thoughts of Chan. I carefully move Lee Know off of me and go downstairs to get some water.

"Can't sleep?" A voice says from behind me in the dark, scaring me. "Jesus," I whisper. Chan laughs. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. Are you ok?" He asks with a small laugh. I catch my breath for a second. "Yeah, I just have someone on my mind-" I cut myself off. "I mean- something, something on my mind," I laugh nervously.

"Someone, eh?" Chan says while leaning on the counter next to me. I sigh. "Yeah, I guess. What about you? Why are you up?" I ask. Chan laughs quietly. "Same thing actually," He says shyly. I look at him curiously. "Oh don't look at me like that," He says while rolling his eyes. We both laugh a bit before silence falls between us.

"Can I ask you something kind of out of the blue?" Chan says, breaking the silence that has become awkward. "Sure," I say. I look at Chan but he avoids my eyes. "My brothers, do you like any of them? Like, romantically I mean," He asks quietly, still avoiding my eyes.

"Y-your brothers? No, I don't like any of them," I say truthfully. He nods before pushing himself off of the counter and standing closely in front of me. "What about me?" He says as he stares deeply into my eyes. My cheeks heat up quickly. "I... Uh," I lower my head. "Maybe..." I say shyly. Chan steps closer to me.

"Really?" He asks, his voice quiet. I nod while keeping my gaze glued to the floor. "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable, I just... I needed to know," He says. My heart is drumming loudly in my chest. "It's okay, I just wasn't expecting this to happen," I say. Chan laughs nervously. "If it makes you feel any better, I like you too," He says softly. My head shoots up. He looks down at me with a gentle smile.

"Really?" It's my turn to ask. His smile grows a bit and he steps even closer. At this point, I'm pressed up against the counter. My hands rest on the cool surface, it's a nice contrast to the burning heat of my face. Chan moves a stray strand of hair out of my face, and his hand cups my cheek afterward.

"You're so beautiful," He says softly. My blush grows, something that I didn't think was physically possible. He tilts his head and smiles while his eyes scan every feature of my face. His hand retracts from my face. "We should probably get some sleep," He says. I hum and push myself off of the counter.

He smiles and turns to walk away before pausing and turning back around. "One last thing," He says while walking closer to me. Once he reaches me, he lifts my chin with his finger and places a gentle but passionate kiss on my lips. "Goodnight, Y/n," He says with a smile before walking away, leaving me stunned in the middle of the kitchen.
