The princes are gathered in the lobby with all of their stuff. "You ready to go?" Chan says before noticing my red and puffy eyes. He quickly steps towards me. "Are you okay?" He says gently. I nod. "I'm fine, it's just that goodbyes are hard," I say quietly.

He nods sadly. "Alright," I say while clearing my throat. "A couple rules before we go into the forest. Rule number one, keep your cloak and hood on no matter what. Rule number two, stay close together. Rule number three, no matter what we come in contact with, don't panic. The only thing that can physically hurt us is the spiders," I explain as the princes watch me intensely. "No matter what, I will protect you with my life. So please don't worry," I say.

"I admire your determination, but you are not sacrificing yourself for us," Minho says while folding his arms. I sigh. "Even though you are running from the throne, you are still royalty and it is my job to protect you," I say sternly. Minho glares a bit at me before sighing. "Fine, but I don't think any of us would want you to sacrifice yourself for us," Minho says. "I would miss you too much Y/nnie!" Hyunjin says dramatically. I sigh.

"Fine. Let's just go," I say. I walk over to my mom and hug her tightly. "I'll miss you," She says quietly. I whisper back an agreement. "I promise I will send the letter right when I get there, just like I said," I say while pulling away. She nods as tears well up in her eyes. Yeji sets a comforting hand on her shoulder and looks at me sadly. "Take care of them," I say to her. She nods and I turn to the princes.

"Is everyone ready?" I say relatively quietly. The group nods in response. I look back at my siblings and mother one final time before opening the front door and leaving. Once I'm out into the streets, I release a breath that I didn't know I had been holding. Chan bumps my shoulder with his own as he looks at me worriedly. "I'm okay, don't worry," I say. Despite my statement, his eyes shine with worry. I start leading the way to the forest, Chan never once leaving my side.

No one in our group speaks as we get closer to the forest, everyone is mentally preparing themselves, I guess. I thought I was prepared enough, but as I stand before the tall looming trees, I'm not so sure anymore. I take a deep breath before turning to the princes. "Alright, now is the time to get your cloaks on," I say while grabbing my own and slipping it on. I pull the hood up over my head and turn back to look at the forest. My mind wanders with memories of the last time I went through the forest.

Chan's hand lands on my shoulder gently, pulling me out of my thoughts. "Do you need a moment?" He says quietly, his voice laced with concern and worry. I shake my head and dismiss my fears. "Is everyone ready?" I ask, Chan looks behind us and nods to me. "Then, I'm ready too," I grab the torch from my bag and light it.

I take another deep breath and slowly start walking into the forest. Darkness quickly swallows us. It's eerily quiet besides our footsteps. Chan walks on my left while Changbin rushes to be on my right. I look over and watch as his eyes scan the forest nervously. I nudge him lightly and his head snaps towards me. "Are you alright?" I say quietly. He nods slowly before talking. "I'm just... a little afraid of forests," He admits shyly.

"Is there anything I can do that would make you less nervous?" I ask, he pauses for a second. "Could you hold my hand?" He asks quietly. I nod and slip my hand into his. He tightens his grip on my hand as he looks at me with a smile. I smile back before turning my attention back to the path.
